I think either can work in the space you describe. My big recommendation is that you reconsider the decision to get a set. The matchy matchy look can be quite dated and overwhelming. Consider mixing it up a bit! For example, have matching nightstands and coordinating but different bed frame and dresser. Look for inspiration photos snd see where things match and where things don’t fit ideas.

Do you live near a good Ikea? I ask because “my” ikea has been out of literally every item I’ve looked for, and I’ve resorted to Amazon. That said, I like my Billy bookshelves. I’ve had a lot of different bookshelves, and Billy’s seem to hit the sweet spot of price and practicality. If you can store clothing under your bed, the easiest way to create space is rotate every season. Probably unlikely that you can put holes in your wall (though come to think of it, you need to do that with Billy regardless)—but if so, or if you live dangerously, my favorite storage Ikea item of all time are Trones shoe cabinet. I use them in so many different ways—art supplies, keys, important papers, socks/underwear, and of course shoes. More on reddit.com
