I got the shorter Besta TV unit and I also grabbed a Besta support leg to install. The support leg has one larger screw on one end and two small screws on the other end, but my TV unit is made to take one larger screw on each end. Did I get the wrong piece? Do I use the small screws anyway? Should i just get a third pair of legs? Help appreciated!

I've just run into this while building a 180cm Besta unit. I wasn't sure that the supporting legs are needed, as the pictures of completed units on the ikea website do not have them attached. I contacted support to ask, they said that the supporting legs are optional and I can return them. No mention of sagging. As it's a longer unit, I've decided to attach them but I'm disappointed that they don't simply use the holes that already exist.

Does anyone have any experience switching out the feet for the Besta unit. I'm looking to wall mount a unit but would like it to clear the height of my baseboards which is 6.5" high. Any universal feet available on amazon or the like that can work with these units. Thank you all in advance!

Have you checked out www.prettypegs.com ? We put the Hugo 160 which is 6.3" from floor to furniture and it worked out really well for us. They have a large assortment of legs under and over 6.5" Downside though, this ships from Sweden and I had to pay duty on pick up. Upside, it fits the existing thread for installing the legs, and will come with extra screws for supporting it

Considering getting the besta (putting two of them together actually) but I don’t want to wall mount. Does it work ok directly on the floor, or do you need legs to be able to open cabinets? Anyone have good or bad besta experiences before I buy and set up two of them?

It comes with itty bitty plastic legs that barely lift it up, and that would do it. You can’t Not use those unless you plan on keeping the unit open without doors or drawers at the bottom, because without any lift at all, then your scraping the fronts along your floor every time you open them up.

I didn't build this exact unit but looked at the assembly instructions and noted the instructions is very similar to besta unit 294.398.54 which I did build recently and also put directly on my floor. It has these little circular feet to make adjustments for leveling the unit when you put it directly on the floor. So yes it should be fine. The little feet helped lift the unit up just enough so the doors wouldn't scrape my floor when opening. Pretty easy to build, needs some tinkering to get the doors to line up nicely. :)
