Hi everyone,
Just purchased the 70” & 47” Besta TV units to mount on my living room wall, along with a few suspension rails for support. Little did I know that the suspension rails are not for the TV unit and the mounting brackets that came with the unit are not ideal. So here I am —
I’ve researched quite a bit on what my options are on how to properly mount. The most common seems to be anchoring a 2x4 across the wall to the studs and mount the TV unit on the 2x4. However, this wouldn’t be flush against the wall due to the 2x4. Another option would be French cleats, which could work but I just haven’t found the right mounts yet.
Lastly, I came across someone that used heavy duty L shelving brackets mounted internally in each compartment to a stud and the top/bottom of the compartment. See this video of what I mean (@ 3:52 and onwards).
I’m leaning towards the heavy duty L shelving brackets but wanted to get y’all’s take on it or if there’s another option that I didn’t come across yet. Would appreciate any advice on this, thank you!

Update for those interested: The thought of using only toggles was a little unnerving, especially with a 9mth old that loves to pull herself up onto things.. so I decided to mount a 90” 2x4 underneath the wall unit to the studs, acting as a secure ledge for the unit to rest on along with toggles. Much more content with this approach. The unit is a total of 10” off the ground so you’d have to be laying on the floor to see the 2x4 ledge. Hope this helps others in the same situation.

I came upon this thread while looking for mounting solutions for the Besta TV unit. I also purchased the suspension rails assuming that they would work for all the Bestas, and was surprised and disappointed that they do not. This thread is old, but while googling for existing solutions I haven't come across anyone else doing what I did. Adding L brackets works but is ugly and also the brackets/bolts protrude from the top and bottom which can interfere with whatever you might want to put in that space. So I'm posting my solution to the Besta mounting problem here in hopes that this might help someone in the future. I decided that using the suspension rails was the best option. The threaded holes in the rails line up nicely with the bracket holes, but the four included brackets are flush with the back of the unit. This would create a gap between the unit and the wall, so I had to move the brackets back. I used calipers to measure the rail and it's around 14.5mm thick. So I carefully measured and marked (this was the hardest part) the center for the new holes onto one bracket. Once I had the marks correctly located, I used a center punch to make a divot on the marks and then I drilled two small holes. I then aligned and clamped (using vice grips) this bracket to another bracket. I used the holes I just made as guides to drill the holes in the same location in the other 3 brackets. I then slowly enlarged all the holes until they were 1/4" wide. This is slightly smaller than the original holes, which I assume are 6.5mm, but the ridge of the screws fits perfectly. I filed down the burr that was created when drilling the holes so that it isn't sharp and to allow the brackets to sit flush against the vertical supports. When installing the rail onto my wall, I managed to get the center rail into 2 studs and the outer rails into 1 stud each. I used toggle bolts to add additional support to the outer rails, mostly to pull the rail tightly against the wall, so that it didn't pull away when screwing on the brackets. Here is a picture of one of the brackets attached to the rail. https://i.imgur.com/Z3a7X42.jpg The plastic caps no longer fit well over the brackets since there isn't room to clear the backer board. You can still get them to clip on, but the cap is pulled away from the bracket and is sitting on the back. I'm going to scribe and then cut away the back to allow the caps to fit properly. Lastly, the 3 rail pieces have a total of 6 threaded holes, but the unit only comes with 4 brackets. I'm going to try to McGyver together two additional brackets out of angle iron or something just to get the best attachment to the rail as possible. P.S. I was lucky enough that the location on my wall where I was putting the console allowed the 3 rail pieces to all attach to studs and that the center rail aligned with 2 studs. Even then, I had to drill additional holes in the rails to allow them to be screwed to the wall. If the studs had lined up so that I could only attach each rail to one stud, or if the center rail had only aligned with one stud, I probably would have returned the rails and made one long rail out of 1/2" - 3/4” plywood. The new hole depth on the brackets would have to be adjusted to match the thickness of the plywood. Then instead of just screwing into the plywood rail, I would use T-Nuts to add threaded metal inserts to the back of the plywood. I think this would be the most secure way to attach to a plywood rail.
