Kivik! The seats are really deep. (23-24") The back cushions are removable, so it adds another 6 inches when guests sleep over. I love that the covers are removable as well, so it can be washed. Imagine having a couch for years without it ever being washed. I love the Kivik. More on reddit.com

I ended up buying a neighbour's MORABO last summer - he worked at Ikea and moved, and sold his entire living room to me. I just freaking love this couch. Hey all,
I currently have the Ektorp love seat, and after eight years, I think I'm ready to buy a new couch. What are people's suggestions for their favorite apartment sized (70" to 80") couch?? I live in a decent sized studio in NYC so I'm looking for something that's comfortable and large enough for me to stretch out on, but won't take up my whole living room.
Currently considering Harlanda, Kivik, Morabo, Karlstad, Soderhamn and Stocksund. Open to other ones too! Can folks speak to which ones are comfortable/which ones they've owned and enjoyed?

Kivik! The seats are really deep. (23-24") The back cushions are removable, so it adds another 6 inches when guests sleep over. I love that the covers are removable as well, so it can be washed. Imagine having a couch for years without it ever being washed. I love the Kivik.

I have the Soderhamn and love it. I started out with a chaise section (sideways) and an ottoman in my 300 sqft studio and built it up to a huge 4 section couch in our condo. I founds all of the sections on Craigslist so total cost was ~$250. Would highly recommend looking around. One note, though. They are quite low and deep, but I love low couches.

Hi everyone!
I'm in the market for a new couch and would love to hear your experiences and recommendations when it comes to IKEA's sofa lineup. I’m especially interested in models that hold up well over time — ones that don’t lose their shape or become uncomfortable after just a couple of years.
Comfort is really important to me, as the main use will be lounging and watching TV/movies. I want something that’s great for sitting, lying down, and just casually slouching. Bonus points if it has open space underneath for a robot vacuum to easily clean.
It’s also important to me that the couch looks good — clean lines, nice design, something that feels cozy but still aesthetically pleasing in the living room. I’d prefer something in a greenish or blueish tone to add some color and life to my otherwise all-white rental apartment.
I’ve seen some mixed reviews saying certain models feel great in the store but quickly become too firm or lose support. Has that been your experience too? Or do you have a couch that still feels great after years of use and also looks nice in your space?
Or should I look elsewhere?
Really appreciate any insights you can share!

It’s worth noting that you can completely take color out of the equation if you buy a sofa that Bemz makes covers for. I didn’t like any of the Jattebo colors so I just bought the sofa frame and ordered reddish-brown velvet covers from Bemz. Totally elevates the whole room and almost makes it feel like a high-end designer sofa.
