I finished assembling the HEMNES day bed and when closed, the slats of the fixed unit don’t align vertically with the slats of the movable unit. They have a significant vertical gap at the back. Is that how it is supposed to be? The slats look perfectly aligned in photos and the assembly videos on youtube.

I have checked and rechecked the assembly instructions and i dont seem to have done anything wrong.

I am trying to assemble a Hemnes daybed from Ikea.

I have built the main structure but when sliding the bed extension part under the main frame, it doesn’t seem to fit properly and I have a gap on both sides (top only with bottom sitting flush).

I have reread the manual a million times but can’t figure out what’s wrong.

Can anyone please help?

They discontinued it and took the guide off the site.

Hey folks! Does anyone have any experience disassembling the HEMNES day bed? I'm moving into a furnished apartment with one and would like to move it to another room, but I don't think it'll fit through the door. Is it likely I'll be able to disassemble it and reassemble it (and do so again when I need to put it back) without causing any damage or should I just accept that I need to leave it where it is/will have to replace it when I move out if I move it?

I have just finished putting together our new Hemnes day bed but when pushing it to close into a single it’s not fully closing flush. What am I missing here? It’s driving me crazy… See pictures attached.

I’ve triple checked the instructions, all seems in order anyone got any ideas? Thanks 🙏
