Hi Everyone,
My Fiancé sleeps hot and I am in the market to get a new Duvet Cover that is linen & Duvet insert that is breathable. Since our current Duvet Cover is from Amazon (MooMee, 100% cotton) with a Down Alternative comforter (Costco, probably polyester).
I haven’t landed on a Duvet Cover yet but I wanted to see if anyone has used this insert before and if they would recommend it to a semi-hot sleeper (Me)
I desperately need a new duvet and I was looking at ordering one from IKEA because the price is right and I generally like the quality of their products.
I was specifically looking at the STJÄRNBRÄCKA light warm duvet, but the reviews are mixed so I wanted to get some more input.
Would you recommend something else? A different model, material, etc?
I've had my last duvet for a decade so I have no point of reference and live a state away from the nearest store. Any input is appreciated!!

Hi all, I’m considering pulling the trigger on buying a down insert from IKEA due to the amazing price. Also, is down or down alternative better? I live in western NY (Buffalo area) so we have long winters. I don’t really sleep or cold, basically in the middle. Any recs? I’m not trying to spend more than $150! LMK if they are worth it! Thanks
Hello! I’m turning 28 this month and am asking for a really comfortable, thick but not too hot, very pufffy, duvet insert. Can be down or down alternative. My entire life, I’ve only ever used comforters! I’ve actually only just learned the difference..
I don’t want to ask for anything too expensive, but I would like something that isn’t comparable to the standard comforters I’m used to. Ideally it would be under $200. Any recommendations? I’d even be okay with buying 2 inexpensive ones, and putting both of them inside the duvet cover, which I’ve seen some people say they do. Any suggestions for somebody who knows nothing about duvets?
I'm looking into summer bedding for our home. I got cotton percale sheet set, cotton duvet cover, and now need a duvet insert. I want natural materials (no synthetic) and am torn between A) IKEA Fjallarnika in light warm (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/fjaellarnika-duvet-insert-light-warm-50457474/) vs B) a silk option (https://a.co/d/20cpliD ---OR--- https://www.mommesilk.com/products/copy-of-washable-cotton-covered-silk-comforter).
Does anyone have experience to share? In the hottest months here (hot & humid) everything will be thrown off, so I wouldn't mind if it had a bit of versatility, i.e., spring/summer/fall.
More info: One child sleeps hot, one does not; they share a room. For winter (gets very cold here) son has the Fjallarnika duvet insert in warm and throws it off most nights. Daughter has the Fjallbracka in warm bc it was too hot for son. Fjallarnika has 90% feather/10% down so I thought getting it in light warm for summer would be a cooler option than the light warm Fjallbracka which has 75% down/25% feather.
IKEA is 3 hrs away so going to see in person is basically already making the choice. Would like to get them this weekend so I can be ready to change the bedding as the weather warms up! Thanks
Hi, we're wanting to upgrade our duvet from a cheap synthetic sweaty comforter to something nicer and natural. Looking at IKEA right now since they have pretty affordable options. We're considering wool and down.
Can anyone weigh in on the down smell issues? Seems like a lot of reviewers end up throwing the duvet out due to the smell. Is the stank really that brutal?
Also would love any experience with the wool duvet. I love wool, just not sure how warm it will be.
For context, our bedroom gets down into the mid 50s in the winter. We're also running flannel sheets and a Pendleton wool blanket.
Any input on either of the IKEA duvets is appreciated ✌️
My wife and I want to switch from a comforter to a duvet. We’re on a budget so keep seeing ikea as a good option. When we look at the pictures online they don’t have the little attachment tie things? Am I missing something? Also, finding duvet cover and insert packages seems impossible?
“I am in the process of researching wool duvet inserts and would appreciate your recommendations. Could you share your favorite brands and what specifically makes them stand out to you?"
Thank you!
I'm moving into college soon and I am buying stuff for my bedroom. I've never really used comforters, duvets, or any standard bed sheets for my bed. I've been using old blankets from when I was like 10 and covering my bed in an old comforter thats probably the same age as me. I'd really like to make my new room look a lot nicer than it has been recently. Does anyone know if Ikea has quality bed sheets that are budget-friendly?
Hello all!
As title says, it's time to replace my 15 year old Ikea FJÄLLARNIKA light warm duvet insert. I have a separate full-warmth down duvet and it's great, but too hot for any time the outside temps are above freezing (or 15C in my bedroom). I've been using the Ikea one for the other 3 seasons, adding a wool blanket on top for the shoulder seasons. I've been quite happy with it generally, I like that there's enough weight to feel cozy without trapping too much heat for the summer. I could just replace it with the same one, but I'm curious as to what could be better out there. Also it's kind of annoying that Ikea duvet inserts are non-standard sizes and they never fit right with my non-Ikea covers.
I've been curious about silk duvets, but being dry clean only seems onerous. I have to wash mine in warm water regularly as I'm allergic to dust mites. I also worry that putting a heavy-ish wool blanket on top of the silk duvet for 2/3 the time will compress it and compromise its function, though I'm not sure if there's any real basis for this.
What would you recommend?
For reference the Queen size ikea duvet inserts are 86" x 86", and other brands (in Canada) are typically 92" x 90". I'll be using this for when temps in my bedroom 20-25C.
Looking at the pictures it doesn’t look like the comforter inserts at ikea have corner loops to attach the duvet cover. Is that accurate? How important is it to be able to tie the duvet cover? I’m looking for a comforter for $150 or less that isn’t too warm if yall have any recommendations for that too. Thanks
I’m looking for a king-sized, down duvet that is super fluffy, downy, and warm. Anyone familiar with them?
Do any of IKEA’s duvet inserts that are listed as “cool” really stay cool?
Greetings to my fellow hot-natured folks living on warm climates! Title and lead question say it all. I currently live in Texas. I’ve been hot natured all my life and I sleep hot… and it doesn’t help that I have a very sweet cat who insists on sleeping pressed up against me. I can’t sleep with no top covering at all (sheet, duvet, whatever), and I’ve tried sleeping with just a sheet but I need the feel of a little something more. But even a thin all-cotton quilt/blanket is just too hot and I wake up sweating multiple times in the night. Desperate for a solution!
What is the fill power of IKEA’s FJÄLLARNIKA Duvet insert, light warm?
I recently got a really nice real down duvet and cover. I was using the IKEA cooling duvet insert before, but it's so thin that the cover has a bunch of extra fabric and it looks and feels sort of weird. This new one is SO fluffy and plush and I instantly fell in love. But, I wake up sweaty every morning. How do I fix this without having to ditch my new favorite comforter?
I’m tired of buying comforters only for them to get ruined in the wash. Figured I’d finally buy an insert and only buy duvet covers. Anyone have a recommendation?
I had an IKEA duvet for ten years, it was great, but eventually all the filling migrated to the edges and it was time for a replacement. I bought the FJÄLLBRÄCKA and it's super ... crunchy? The material is theoretically 100% cotton, but so was my old duvet and it was very soft. The new one sounds like sleeping under a plastic tarp! I shouldn't have to worry about waking my partner up when I turn over in bed. Has anyone had this experience with an IKEA duvet? Did it soften after a few washes? I already washed it before use. I'd rather not return it but I can't live with this level of noise.
My fiancé and I are getting married next June and we are building our registry. I enjoy interior design and like to change up our bedding pretty often. Because of this, we have decided that a duvet is the right way to go instead of a comforter. But I have NO idea where to start… any and all advice would be amazing! Here is what we are looking for…..
I want something that is big and fluffy and I can curl myself in- but we would like to have it be all seasons. I wouldn’t say we sleep hot but we don’t want anything with lots of weight to it. I would also like the stuffing to not shift around a ton and have it be pretty even and spread out as we continue to use it.
While we are at it- does anyone have any duvet covers that they recommend??
i’m trying to buy a new duvet insert and heard Ikea has some good quality ones!
i’m looking for one that is thick and heavy so it has that nice plump and fluffy look to it. something that feels fluffy as well. anybody have any suggestions? many thanks!
