They're minimal warmth comforter is great for someone who wants the weight of a comforter without retaining heat, it's one of the few polyester things I think does its job well, but I wish it fit my bed. Hi Everyone,
My Fiancé sleeps hot and I am in the market to get a new Duvet Cover that is linen & Duvet insert that is breathable. Since our current Duvet Cover is from Amazon (MooMee, 100% cotton) with a Down Alternative comforter (Costco, probably polyester).
I haven’t landed on a Duvet Cover yet but I wanted to see if anyone has used this insert before and if they would recommend it to a semi-hot sleeper (Me)

Can’t speak to this one specifically but I got their wool duvet insert recently and I like it a lot. Two things to keep in mind about duvet covers for IKEA inserts. The inserts are not standard sizes so if you get a cover from elsewhere it may not fit precisely. Not necessarily a deal breaker but the other thing is that the inserts don’t have loops either so you could have some movement if the cover is too large. Best to get a duvet cover from IKEA for the best fit. I got linen duvet cover for winter and a cotton/lyocell cover for warmer months and both are great and relatively low priced compared to other stores.

I’ve had one for about ten years, and it’s been okay. I’m planning to replace it this fall. It’s light weight, so good in summer, but needs extra blankets in the colder months. Down alternative is definitely better on the low budget end. Buying cheap down is just buying trouble (mostly feather, odor, clumping), and quality down is expensive. Im not convinced it’s worth it for most people for a comforter/duvet. Quality down pillows are worth it though. There are many down alternatives that are generic polyester fill. And there are a few that have a reputation for excellence while still not too expensive. I have a sleeping bag made with Primaloft, and it’s the real deal. It’s twenty years old and still in great condition. That’s what I’ll probably buy. Here’s one that you might like. This company has a great reputation and sells several different down alternative comforters. I’ve been meaning to call them and get more info on their various options. They are big suppliers to the hotel industry. So I’d recommend Primaloft without hesitation, and then you have to get the right weight for your preference. I'm moving into college soon and I am buying stuff for my bedroom. I've never really used comforters, duvets, or any standard bed sheets for my bed. I've been using old blankets from when I was like 10 and covering my bed in an old comforter thats probably the same age as me. I'd really like to make my new room look a lot nicer than it has been recently. Does anyone know if Ikea has quality bed sheets that are budget-friendly?

their cotton sheets are great, I love the dvala bottom sheets with elastics, bought several of those lol. and for the rest I got the blue square set , but their duvet cover sizes are very weird, my ikea only carries 150cm or 240cm, one is too tiny, the other one droops over the floor :/

I like the set up they have for warmth/coolness (for the duvet), the price-points, and the variety. Ive been using IKEA bedding since I was a kid. I like that they have 100% cotton options, as i find that most comfortable. I use them at home, and extended family use them at their Bed and Breakfast. They are good value for what you get and the return policy is excellent. My only advice is to stay away from the lowest price-point; Go for mid-level and you'll be happy.

I have had an Ikea one for about six years and it's great. Washes well, hot water wash, goes in the dryer no problem. 10/10 would buy again. Edit: mine is synthetic though. Can't tell from your post if you're restricting to down.

I desperately need a new duvet and I was looking at ordering one from IKEA because the price is right and I generally like the quality of their products.
I was specifically looking at the STJÄRNBRÄCKA light warm duvet, but the reviews are mixed so I wanted to get some more input.
Would you recommend something else? A different model, material, etc?
I've had my last duvet for a decade so I have no point of reference and live a state away from the nearest store. Any input is appreciated!!

I love ikea duvets and have used them for pretty much my whole life. So many choices, something for everyone. I used to do for the “down/feather” ones, but now I prefer the synthetic. Tip…buy a size larger…full at the minimum if you are single sleeper. And if you share a bed, buy one for each person…best sleep ever ;)
