January 29, 2025 - after talking with a friend who did a built-in herself, she advised me to do a little cubby for each family member. i loved this idea and incorporated it by doing four cubbies in the bench area for each of us – for shoes mostly, but also backpacks and whatever else would otherwise be on the ground at the entryway. (ps I AM SO HAPPY TO FINALLY HAVE A PLACE FOR ARLOS BACKPACK TO TUCK AWAY) i also knew i wanted to do hooks above the bench for jackets and hats – i was sad to lose the mirror in the entryway but i knew the storage was more important.
