Don't know if this is too late but I have one. Take a LARGE blanket and lay it out on the bed with enough room to sit on it in the front. Wrap the backside around and over the backrest so you're sitting on that too. The pinch will keep it in place. I'm trying to figure out a way to add backrests to the flottebo couch. I'll be moving soon and I can't put the couch against the wall anymore, which means the pillow cushions are going to end up sliding all over the place. In the past we've put a kallax behind to fix this issue, but with the limited space in the new apartment, it's not possible.
I'm trying to find the best way of doing it without actually drilling onto the couch.
My only idea is to somehow make a backrest that goes on similarly to how their side table attachment works.
Any idea would be appreciated.

Yeah, I think you're on the right track with the side table. In fact I wrote out a whole long procedure for using the holes it attaches to to mount a back panel, and then realized you could actually use the side tables themselves, if you feel like dropping $60 on two of them! Mount the bracket for the side table according to the instructions on the back corners, but without the tabletops. (If you can do it with the bracket on the back, that's probably best, but they only show them on the side/ends, which is fine if that's the case since they rotate.) If they're on the back side, rotate them towards each other; if they're on the ends, point them both towards the back. Get a board - either a 1x2 for a relatively unobtrusive rail, or a wider, maybe 5-6 inch board for a sort of mini sofa table - cut it either to the length of the sofa or just 1-2 inches longer than the distance between the screw holes in the table arms when positioned as described above, and attach it to those arms. You could add another board under the first perpendicular if you want more of a back. ....... Alternately, here's the longwinded idea I came up with first: The side table bracket seems to attach to the frame at 3 points - the leg, a screw opposite the leg on top of the frame, and a hole in the underside of the frame a few inches from the leg, so that seems to be your best bet for mounting points. Either get a piece of plywood or build a nicer rectangle out of 1x2s or whatever the length of the back of your couch, height from the bottom of the frame to however high above the cushions you think it needs to be to keep the pillows from escaping (I'd guess around 18"). You could paint, stain, or even upholster it (if you do, make sure to leave the bottom half of the front of the back board accessible for screwing into). Flip your Flottebo upside down or sideways and line up the bottom board with your back board to mark off where the leg screws are and any other available holes, then attach your L brackets to the bottom edge of the board, side you want facing in, at each point there's a screw hole marked. With the back board flat on the ground, flip your Flottebo base up sideways with the side you want as the back on top of the board, take the legs off and put them back with the L brackets in between, and screw in any other brackets you have to work with, then go around the other side and screw more L brackets into the holes on the top of the frame, and then attach them to the back board. ....... And now that I've spent waaaaay too long thinking about a sofa I don't even have, I'll bid you adieu, and hope to god that one of those ideas works out for you so I haven't *completely* wasted my time! lol
