I'm about to put down money for the Flottebo sleeper sofa (which doubles as a slightly-narrower full bed, and felt like a real bed when I laid on it in the store), but it's so new that I can't find many reviews of it online. I'm hoping to use it as an everyday bed in my tiny studio apartment, not for guest/occasional use, and I'd love to hear from others who use it like this.
From looking at the underside of the bed part, it does look like an actual mattress (with tensioned/arched slats) that's been upholstered. Aside of the smaller width, it looks and feels like it'll be as comfy long-term as a "real" mattress. Will it be?
Sleeper sofas are made for occasional bed use. They’re not as comfortable long term.
Did you look at the Hemnes daybed or FLEKKE? To make it work better in couch mode, get a comforter that looks like thick couch fabric (tuck it in on all sides), three tall cushions to look like the back cushions on a couch, and armrest shaped cushions.
I know it's been 5 months since you posted this. Are you still looking into FLOTTEBO? Or you have already bought it? I missed out on the IKEA sale for sleeper sofa with limited time 20% off, so it's currently out of stock for me.
