I can’t find on the Ikea website anywhere, a weight limit for the fully together twin setup or the trundle pull out portion.
Is this bed stable enough for larger adults? Anyone who owns it have experience with this?

My husband and I desperately need to upgrade our bed. We're in a full now and plan on getting the Hemnes in a king size around the beginning of the year. With us, our two kids who always seem to find a way in our bed at night, and the dog in bed we are probably looking at around 500-500lbs. Would the bed hold that?
I used hemnes daybed (with regular mattress, but no no boxspring) successfully with around 450lbs for several years. I'll admit we are much more comfortable now on a traditional bed with regular frame. The slats frequently shifted on the daybed and it made us nervous.
Id say it definitely should. My husband and i collectively weigh about 525. We sleep on a full size hemnes bed frame with the slotted bed boards and a box spring. Not noise and its one of the most sturdy frames ikea makes being madr of pine. Would definitely buy again.
I've been considering the Hemnes daybed for a guest room someone will use every couple months. I've read extended it has a 400lbs weight limit and some have been having issues with slats breaking.
So I'm thinking if it's feasible to cut two twin bed-sized sheets of plywood to reinforce the supports. Both sheets would stack under the two mattresses in the closed position and when extended, the second plywood sheet would support the extension and redistribute the weight.
Any thoughts?
Hey fellow IKEA peeps, recently got our LO an Ikea hemnes daybed. He absolutely loves it. I was eyeing it for a while and so glad we bought it.
I ordered online and had it delivered. Because I had a feeling thing was heavy and I was right! It comes in four boxes. I assembled it by myself (F, 5’7, 134lbs)— now I’d say it’s possible to do it alone BUT it helps if you enjoy putting things together and don’t mind breaking a bit of a sweat. It took me the better part of an entire afternoon. I also had to haul each singular piece upstairs, so it was a lot of trips because the boxes were too heavy on my own.
I love the color, we got the yellow. It’s not too bright, it’s a matte vs glossy finish, and feels fun in our kids room.
We used two 6” mattresses off Amazon. I tried to research endlessly what options felt the best and ultimately got these, https://a.co/d/fJhGENW. They are great. A medium firm. My LO is under 50lbs so not much weight is on them. They’re still a good width if we need to extend it and have them side by side for the king version.
Anyway, feel free to ask any Qs. The only thing, I’m not sure if all hemnes daybeds do this, but our bottom platform doesn’t fully sit against the upper frame. Added a photo. It’s not a deal breaker and doesn’t mess with the functionality— just pointing that out.
