The husband won out the tv argument and we now have a 60″ which is a bit harder to accommodate in the stand department! ... I am so glad we waited until the 3 drawer one appeared – I was just in IKEA this weekend and saw the 2 drawer one….it didn’t compare!

I wanted to put this somewhere and didn't know where else.
This is a general FYI that might be an obvious no-duh for most people, but I really didn't do my due diligence on the dimensions of potential AV equipment for a 72" Hemnes TV stand I bought. And now that I have an AVR (Onkyo) I see it doesn't fit in the stand!
And, further, I don't see any AVRs that would fit into the spaces for equipment in this particular tv stand. The device would have to be around 4" tall max, yet most AVRs are around 6" tall.
So a Bluray player, cable/sat box, or game console would likely all fit no problems. But if you have an AVR for a surround system, you should realllyyy check dimensions before shopping a stand. Totally my fault as I didn't anticipate the AVR buy when I bought the stand. I don't think this particular stand was designed for folks with AVR units.

AVR are often hi-fi separate sized units so it's less common to find a compact one. Plus as they have a power amplifier and need a lot of airflow I wouldn't recommend putting them in a restricted space anyway. They need a bit of breathing room or you will have dry solder joints in a few years.

thx for the heads up. Hemnes seems to be the most sturdy TV bench at Ikea. Need one for 85" TV, no other option really. I guess no AVR for me, will have to go with a sound bar.
