Oh, I can answer this, I sold IKEA kitchens as a part-time job for a long time! The setup itself is logical. There are variations possible that have already been mentioned, but refrigerator-sink-cooktop is practically sound. From refrigerator to washing to preparing. I also find the refrigerator close to the dining room practical, easy to grab a drink. From the cooktop/oven you do walk a bit longer to the dining table, but how often does this happen in your household? If this is your first kitchen, you will naturally notice what you find practical after a while, there's no escaping that unfortunately. Black elements are the most beautiful if you want Voxtorp grey. There are always some gaps visible with Voxtorp (partly a matter of adjustment, partly inherent to the front). With white cabinets it looks ugly, with black it looks sleek. A few more comments: Normally a 5cm filler strip is used to the right of the refrigerator. I don't see how much that is in your drawing (sorry, I'm on my mobile). In practice, you usually get away with less, especially with Voxtorp (no handle that can hit the wall). No need for a microwave? It could possibly go in an upper cabinet (instead of a door). But you have to like that. If you hardly use the microwave, you can also put a small model away in a cupboard. A cover panel is missing against the tall cabinet. Maybe a conscious choice, maybe not, but be aware that the cabinet elements are a bit brownish and have a light wood motif. The IKEA kitchen salesperson will also point this out to you. You could optionally choose a matte black cover panel, but that is more susceptible to fingerprints, especially in good light. I'm not crazy about the grey-on-grey combination of countertop and front. But that's very personal, check this out in the store. There are samples of worktops there that you can match with the fronts. What kind of oven did you choose? I'm a sucker for a steam oven myself. Regenerating meal-prepped food is much tastier than from the microwave (although it takes a little longer). I also find steaming vegetables blissful and easier than in a pan: slide it into the oven on a special tray, fill it with water, turn it on, and it's ready three-quarters of an hour later. PS: My parents have a Voxtorp grey kitchen with black cabinets and I myself have a Voxtorp high-gloss white kitchen with white cabinets. I would make the choice again like that :) More on reddit.com

We have worked with IKEA for 18 years, specializing in custom solutions. One design suggestion is to address the right-side fillers. Instead of using such a large filler panel, you can redesign that cabinet line to integrate seamlessly with the small pertrubing wall, customizing the interior cabinet box. Here is my Ikea kitchen, completed a year and a half ago . I love the number of drawers we have, the ease of installation, and the durability. So far no damage at all to any of the cabinets. The cabinets cost $2,950, bought during the kitchen sale. If we did it again I think we might have bought semihandmade fronts (still white shaker). We bought semihandmade for a bathroom vanity front a few months ago and the quality seems just one small step up from the IKEA ones. More on reddit.com
