January 24, 2023 - It’s been two years since we completed our IKEA Kitchen Remodel, so I thought it would be a great time to review how it’s held up! In this IKEA Kitchen Cabinets Review, I’ll let you know what I love, what I don’t love and what I wish we would have done.

February 22, 2023 - It’s been called “stinky” and one person said the review gave her the “icks.” That does feel unkind. But you are right that disagreement is perfectly appropriate. ... We bought an apartment in Portugal and it was renovated with Ikea cabinets so this was very useful. We figure if we get ten years out of them, we’ll redesign the kitchen at that point.

August 13, 2024 - Saying that, I’m sure the solid wood options would hold up a lot better, and I’m even considering replacing the shaker-style drawer fronts we had custom-fitted in 2015 with IKEA’s FRÖJERED fronts for an easy kitchen glow-up. Internally, the fittings leave much to be desired. The HÅLLBAR waste sorting system is really flimsy, coming apart every time you open the drawer in both of our kitchens. The Benchmarx one we had fitted into a door in a previous property was perfect, even ten years on. July 11, 2025 - I find they show every spec of dust or debris, and even after I wipe them down they can still look dusty. If I were to remodel our kitchen one day, I’d go for all white cabinets. Since we installed our kitchen, the IKEA kitchen system has changed a little, but it’s still very similar to ours.

Ikea cabinets are great looking and inexpensive if selling you home within a couple of years. If you actually plan on living in the home for 5 years plan on replacing them as they fall apart. The particle board will fall apart with the kitchen humidity and hard use. remodeller ... I read a bunch of positive reviews ...

November 16, 2022 - So we called and Ikea sent out a new one, no problem at all. ... After multiple multiple multiple calls with customer service I’ve gotten a couple people to admit that you will never get a complete order of the first try. That would’ve been nice to know before I hired a cabinet installer to the tune of $1000 a day only to learn my order is not complete. ... Absolutely avoid!! I’ve spent months waiting for all of the pieces of my kitchen to be available.

If you need affordable kitchen cabinets for a cabinet replacement or remodeling project, IKEA is a solid option—especially if you love modern designs and are okay with some trade-offs in construction quality.

I use IKEA on almost every kitchen project of mine, and my clients are always delighted with the results.

We had our heart set on doing real wood cabinets from Ikea but after our trip there found out that the only style we liked will not work with all of the other details we already have figured out. We like the design of a foil finish option but I'm extremely hesitant to go that route given that is what is failing in our kitchen currently.

January 24, 2023 - It was amazing quality and the number of options are second to none. Our new house has a fancy kitchen that cost several times what we spent in IKEA (not our choice!) and it's by no means any better.

March 2, 2020 - I loved our Ikea kitchen remodel! $7500 for cabinets, appliances, tiles, lighting, and counter (we did oak butcher block that we made ourselves so $135 in materials for an entire hardwood counter).
