Has anyone here made a good setup for a clay trap and the SUNNERSTA mini kitchen from IKEA?
I don’t have running water, and I’m imagining having a water container with a tap on top, and a bucket underneath to catch the clay, which then drains excess water into a second bucket.

Would love to se a setup or if you have any advice for me!

I love this idea and while I have not set something similar up for myself and so I don’t have advice on this specific set up to give you, a friend of mine made a bucket system similarly. She drilled a hole and added a spigot near the top of the first bucket so as the water rises, it can be drained off the top, some simple silicone sealant helped fit and seal the spigot into the side of a plastic 5 gallon bucket. The shelf directly under the sink looks perfect to hold the first bucket, as long as there’s enough clearance (though you could shorten a 5 gallon bucket to fit, the top of the bucket would not be as sturdy without the usual reinforcement). I would just make sure that the whole structure is sturdy enough to hold the weight of that. Good luck!

I don’t have running water in my studio, so my husband recently built me a DIY clay trap using a couple of containers, that fits under a small sink similar to that IKEA setup, and he added a pump that I can plug in so that the last container with the cleanest water get pumped up through the tap. I’d say it works pretty well, though it’s still pretty new, so I’m not actually sure if the clay trap part is working well enough to keep the pump from getting clay buildup. I didn’t build the clay trap, so I don’t know the details, but there’s tons of resources online for DIY clay traps. We looked at this one from Ceramics Arts Network and this video . If you aren’t plumbing into the sewer line, you just need to think about how you are going to get the water out, and how you are going to get the clay out when it needs to be cleaned. I put a little hydrogen peroxide in my system to keep the closed system stench at bay. If you want pics of my system I can take them when I’m back in the studio on Thursday.

Uhhh, tons of ideas! Unfortunately most would go through ripping off the stove and the sink. The stove is huge for the space you have, and the sink is actually even worse, as you won't need all that sink space unless you have an equally proportional kitchen. I'd remove the trolley from over there, probably use it as an island and leave it parallel to the stove and sink unit. Maybe you can paint it white? IKEA sells cabinet knobs, so you could replace the ones from the kitchen and trolley and have them all sport the same knob. That would give some cohesion to your kitchen. The trolley seems to open so it can be used as a table... I'd probably get a couple of high chairs with backs so that they can be in front of the trolley at all times. They'd be far more comfortable to sit in than a stool, too. You have wall space to the left of the stove. Set up a rod and hooks and you can hang larger pots and pans on the hooks and lids on top of the rod. Set up two and you probably have extra space to have oven mittens or pot holders and kitchen utensils at hand and off the cabinet. More on reddit.com

Looking for a Better Quality Tap for SUNNERSTA Mini Kitchen Sink

Looks like any standard single hole faucet should work. The only thing I could see being an issue is if the hole is too small, but you can drill it out larger. The hole should be 1 and 3/8 of an inch or possibly one and a half inches wide (35-38mm). More on reddit.com
