Nordli Confusion
Update: Our local Ikea showed that the correct top & base was in stock, so we went to Ikea to buy it... except it wasn't the correct one, it was the old one. We talked to the customer service person in the store, who agreed it was wrong and didn't understand why they were showing it in stock when it clearly was not. He ended up placing an order for us to have it shipped to our house. Not ideal, as it will take 10 days to arrive and we really want this done right away. Hopefully the one that arrives is the correct one.

Light birch top for nordli dresser (cheaper than the top and base and matches my furniture)
The top and base for nordli were out of stock at our ikea, so I decided to make our own. I used a higher grade 3/4" birch plywood and attached it using leftover hardware that came with the drawers. I added an iron on veneer to the edges, and just used a conditioner on the top to keep the unfinished look. I added some adhesive rubber feet instead of making a base. This was my first time attempting anything like this! I swear the tops are level, the floors in our old house are just crazy wonky.

So I just bought the Nordli dresser drawers (two of the wider 3 drawer pieces), but the top and base are totally sold out near me. I've seen pictures of DIYed tops and bases, but I can't find any instructions/blogs about it. Anyone have any experience doing this? Will it be pretty easy?
I'm trying to build a Nordli dresser, specifically this one: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S59239523/
I visited my local Ikea yesterday and the did not have the top & base in stock, but did have the drawers. I spoke with an Ikea employee and he said that they do have the top and base, but they are in overstock, but getting them down would require a forklift, which they won't do during the day. He said he'd tell the overnight staff to get the inventory out for today (Monday) and gave me a number to call to make sure that they had the inventory before coming in. In the meantime, he said to buy the drawers because Sundays are busy days and he didn't want them to sell out while we waited for the top and base.
This morning, I called the number and left a voice mail. I just got a call back from Ikea stating that the only top & base that they have in stock is a different stock number, which I am assuming is the old version, but it was fine, we could use it, and it would be bigger than we needed but it would still work.
This contradicts everything I've read about the new version of Nordli. My understanding is that the old Nordli top & base will NOT work with the new version.
The drawers that I have are: 503.834.59 and 703.834.63
The top & base I'm trying to buy is: 703.834.77
And the Ikea rep told me that I could use this top & base: 803.18.778
Am I correct that this top & base won't work?? There are more in stock at the next closest Ikea, which is 1 1/2 hours away, but I'd rather not drive there if my local Ikea can get it for me.
TIA

No special area, they didnt even have the new one in stock this past weekend.
The website and self service computers both told me to grab the item from the bin where the old version was. I didnt check tge size on the box, so thats how i ended up with the wrong one.
