July 5, 2024 - The fabric component is not listed as an available spare part. Replacing only the fabric would be a DIY task. The base can be used with a currently sold IKEA umbrella but there is no simple way to buy only a new fabric component; the umbrella fabric comes with the support structures.

I have an older Seglaro offset umbrella (article number 702.603.20) and the canopy has finally started to rip at the ends of the ribs. I looked at ikea.ca and it looks like they have a Seglaro replacement canopy available (marked as a new product, article number 005.002.05). It has been not in stock for a while but since it is new, I am hoping I can get a chance to purchase.
That being said, the product page states that it is a replacement for any Seglaro purchased after 2018. Here is the thing, I cannot remember when my Seglaro was purchased, could have been before that. I asked customer service (through an online channel) if the canopy currently on the website is compatible with my specific version of the Seglaro, and they said that because it has been discontinued, they cannot confirm that it would work.
So here is my confusion/question: has the Seglaro been completely redesigned between article numbers? Anybody here that is an Ikea coworker or perhaps someone in the same boat as me can confirm whether or not the canopy design itself has not changed between the different years of Seglaro?

When there's an article number change to an existing product, it means something has been changed, but that something could be one of a few things. It could be a full redesign, where your older version might not be compatible anymore, or they may have changed materials, supplier/manufacturer, or made a small adjustment to the design or construction, which means the new version MIGHT work with your existing setup. If I weren't home sick today I could at least look up when your version was sold until, but I don't know enough about the outdoor furniture to give you a definite answer on the design and why the article number changed :/ if no one else has an answer for you I'll do my best to do some digging when I'm back at work
