I am planning a walk-in closet with the shortest wall being 137 cm. When using IKEA's planner I found out that 1) I wasn't able to make the moduls fit wall to wall and 2) their corner module does not utilize the space fully because of a gap that the two modules make (not really a fan of that). I'll add a picture for reference.
I got to thinking and though that if I were to buy one 100 cm module and one 55 cm module, i could just cut down on the width of the 55 cm module and make it fit wall to wall perfectly. While thinking about that I started pondering the idea of making it seamless without the wall of the two modules and just joining the top and bottom plate. How do I make the join strong enough and how should i join them?
While I am at it - does the bottom panel of the module serve an important function? I want to remove it so I can see my floor instead of the PAX "floor".
All help and tips from you guys is appreciated as I am in need of it all.

Hello! I am trying to recreate the pax wardrobe seen here. The problem is IKEA Canada (or maybe all of IKEA) has discontinued that particular corner unit and the corner unit they now offer is not what I want.
I had a thought to use a billy bookcase as my “corner” because it has the corner hardware- however I’m unsure if the track at the bottom would work for a pax system/ be able to be attached properly.
Does anyone have any ideas ? I desperately need more closet space LOL
No cabinet at all. Simply use the outsides of the two corner adjacent cabinets to add L-brackets to hold custom cut shelves that fit in between them. Use a piece of wood in the corner as back support for the shelves, and leave it open and exposed as open shelving in-between two closeted doors. Paint it all white, and you have added more storage.
This is an older pax unit design that I wish they still offered, as it stored items way more efficiently than the newer design. Just a suggestion, you may want to check kijiji, as often I've seen this older design listed (with hardware, shelfts, brackets, etc) for really good prices.
Hi everyone. I am renovating my walk-in-closet and will be using a combination of the IKEA Pax system. I have certain limitations with the acceptable widths for the individual Pax closets, and only one wall can take the 22.8" wide ones. The other two walls can only accommodate the 13.7" wide ones.
I have to use the corner unit for two of the walls. Does anyone know whether I can combine the 22.8" wide part with the 13.7" one? Or should the two corner units be always of the same width? I'm afraid I couldn't find anything on either the IKEA website or Google about it.
Many thanks in advance for any ideas.
