DIY work desk

is the micke desk worth it?

I have the mid-size one (with the cabinet on one side) and my husband has the large one which is similar to the smallest one in function (i.e. it only has drawers). Things I like about both desks: they're good size desks and fit into most places. We got them during the pandemic to WFH and they fit beautifully into our tiny-ass den at the time. Now that we have a proper office in our new home, they fit seamlessly, but I am planning on upgrading my husband's they're nice looking desks; yes they basically SCREAM IKEA but if you don't care or if you want to make some aesthetic upgrades to it, it's pretty easy. I had a friend put peel and stick wallpaper on her drawer fronts for her daughter and it's very cute -Very sturdy, I have a monitor mount with two monitors and I don't really notice any wobble unless I REALLY want to shake it Things I hate about the desks impossible to mount monitors without "hacking". The backs of the desk are completely closed (you can see this on their website if you look at 3D mode), and the grommets are placed in locations that are only good for cables. With the mid-size desk at least the grommet is in the middle but that means the monitors aren't centered with my vision because of how the sitting part of your desk is laid out. This is part of the reason I'm planning on replacing my husband's desk in particular. shallower than most desks. Even though my husband's desk is 55" which is a fairly standard width, it's very shallow (barely 20" deep, whereas the lagkapten desktop is 23"). IKEA desk suggestions?

Not sure what to say, I've hot a black linnmon/adils. It's a very useful table that is just 4 legs screwed into a plain top. No tools are required to disaassemble/reassemble. It's where I do most of my painting. Mine has also travelled a bit as it's easy to take down/set up. It's a good size, and the feet are adjustable for when the floor isn't perfectly even. With two of them put together, it's ~40" x ~48", which can be good for smaller games, too. I guess you are more interested in the "hobby desk" kinda style? With lots of drawers and shelves and stuff built in? I'm not personally a fan, but if I was thinking of getting one, it would need to maximise it's use of vertical space, as lots of desktop space is really not what you need when doing hobby stuff. You mainly need lots of stacked compartments/drawers/shelves to tidy stuff away. Or box up projects/consumables so you can return to them easily without having to pack them away completely.
