I know, everything costs more. I get it, it is what is is. But what is Ikea thinking with the pricing on this TV unit and much larger sideboard?

I haven’t shopped at Ikea since 2021, I really liked this TV bench but this line was sold out with no foreseeable restock so I settled on some cheap amazon unit. I am now looking to upgrade again but the TV bench went from $399 to $599???

And the sideboard (more material) went from $449 to $599 as well?? The TV bench was already overpriced? It should be at least $50 cheaper than the larger sideboard. $549 would be still insulting but less so than pricing it the same as the larger piece?

Is there any alternative that has the same walnut color that I could buy? I really don’t want a white or very light colored wood TV stand as the rest of my furniture is a walnut color, but I also don’t want a dark brown / black unit because it’s dust city over there.

I’m open to recommendations because I would honestly have eaten it had they been kind enough not to price the smaller TV bench the same as the sideboard. Also they were overpriced in 2021, maybe not the sideboard, but definitely the TV bench. Should be $399 now and $199 then.

Just finished building the new Stockholm 2025 TV bench. This might be one of the highest-quality IKEA pieces I’ve ever assembled. The materials feel solid, the finish is beautiful, and the design has a really premium vibe.

Bonus tip for vinyl lovers: if you skip the inner shelf and the cable management channel, the compartments are a perfect fit for storing records.
