Unless IKEA changed something recently, the legs come with mounting plates that you screw to the table top. The table top doesn't come with any hardware. So any leg that you buy needs to have its own mounting hardware. As long as it has a mounting plate, then it should work. More on reddit.com

Has anyone cut into the leg of a lack table or have the ability to? I am curious how solid the legs are. I know the table top is just solid layers around a cardboard pattern inside. I am hoping the legs are solid because I would like to cut some to make them shorter for a project I am doing.

Not solid at all, only at ends. But I’ve cut legs shorter for various projects and have had zero issues. Have cut table in half and placed on 6” legs, was used as shelf to get computer up off floor (heavy 40-50lb server tower). Had to reinforce with blocking at the cut half of table but super easy. You can always glue in a piece of wood at bottom of cut leg if want the extra stability.
