How does this compare to the Hemnes? (And is the Hemnes really discontinued?)
The hemnes dresser line was going to be fully discontinued but they decided to just discontinue the grey stained and bring back white and black-brown. The Pittsburgh store will have them in June/July because they were just put back into production as of a couple of weeks ago. More on reddit.com

March 5, 2025 - I'm wondering if I should wait for additional Storemolla pieces or Hemnes. As I want their sturdiest pieces. And found the Storemolla was their Best. With the Gullaberg 2nd Best...with legs. Minus legs I pick the Songesand over the Brimnes. The Storemolla grey beige color is fairly light but very beautiful. It could easily be painted over. If I was picking out one piece for my youngster and wanted the best from IKEA I would go with the Storemolla. ... Sorry, after attempting to assemble a solid wood dresser I ordered online.

I’m desperately searching for a white 8-drawer Hemnes dresser. They’ve been out of stock forever online and at my nearest store (about 4 hours away). I got a notification the other day that they were available for shipping to my zip code, but the listing still said “out of stock online”, so I couldn’t order one even though the website still said available for shipping for days.
I finally decided to do some more investigating, and I found a bunch of posts from a few months ago saying that customer service told people the Hemnes is being discontinued, having some safety issues reworked, and then coming out under a new name. Since I need the dresser for a baby arriving in April, I decided to reach out for confirmation myself, and the person I talked to said it wasn’t being discontinued and will be restocked in stores.
I just don’t even know what to think now. Does anyone have any insight? Or any idea of how often the dresser gets restocked online? I’ve got notifications set up, and I’ve been stalking the website for a month with no luck. I’ve been to every other furniture store near me, and literally none of the sell a simple plain white dresser, let alone one with the same dimensions as the Hemnes.
