So this is our tv room and we’ve asked for quotes on bespoke furniture to fit under the tv and it’s just unbelievably expensive. So I dug into ikea’s website and found that these two “bestas” and a couple more doors fit just perfect. So the idea is to lift the units to meet the height of the base of the fireplace and it’s gonna have a top all the way across to fit the corner on the left and also around the fireplace - the idea is to look like it’s floating on the unit. The two doors on the right will be “fake” . We saw this in a shop and really like this grey top - does anyone know what material it is? Does anyone have any other ideas or advice?

I think it's perfect like that, tv bench is wall to wall and it's long, lifting it won't look better than now.
Add another besta unit in the empty space in the right, and let the fireplace floating, it'll look just fine. if it gives you OCD add a bottom to it that fits and sits on the bench, something good looking, (a good piece of wood or rock..)
Get that TV down 10 to 15 cm, if there's power outlets behind up you gotta move them, you can also put the speaker on the tv bench.Put a long or big vase or plant in the far left.

I was at the show room few days ago and passed by the bedroom area and the first one had qhat I think was a tv stand as bed foot storage. Has anyone seen this or tried it? I have a basic tv stand that looks a bit like the Lack but instead of legs at the bottom, it's 2 drawers.
I'm thinking to replace the current tv stand with a Trofast storage because I want to put the Dugtig mini kitchen next to it. I would put the black-brown TV stand at the feet of our malm bed and thinking to add some sort of bench cushion on top of it. If you have seen something similar, can you please share your tips.
I'm considering using the Kallax shelf unit from IKEA as a TV stand. Has anyone done this? I'd love to see some pictures and get your thoughts on how it worked out. Thanks!
