February 13, 2019 - While I used the IKEA METOD kitchen, which is in metric – the IKEA Kitchen Planner tips can be applied to the IKEA SEKTION kitchen range. I’m old school so I used pen and paper to plan before I laid my plans down on the software. IKEA even provided grid paper here. Firstly, I familiarised myself with the height, widths and depths of the METOD cabinets. The basic frames are as follows: Wall cabinets: Widths: 20cm, 40cm, 60cm, 80cm.

2) It keeps giving me warnings that cabinets are overlapping each other, that there is not enough room around the range, etc., even though it auto-placed the items itself (that is, the item snapped to the position next to the wall or other item). I am not getting any feedback from it about exactly where to place the items.

Experiment with different combinations, swap things around, and then try different styles until you are satisfied with the result. You can view and print the best options with all dimensions - just like an architect. When you are satisfied with your plan, save it in the IKEA Planner and visit the nearest IKEA Store.

And then sometimes the wall cabinet turns red along with the base cabinet and they can't be separated so if I try to move the wall cabinet it moves the base cabinet too.
