Any Black Friday (US) iMac M4 deals better than $1,149?
Apple Store vs. Best Buy
Do you take trade ins? I have an imac and would like to upgrade to a new one. null
What is the best Macbook to buy for logic?
Any of the current MacBooks models will run the latest release of Logic just fine, all features should be there regardless of the Mac it runs on. The only difference would be performance, especially when your projects get larger with more CPU hungry plugins and RAM hogging sampler VSTs, that’s where you will really start to see lower-end models suffer from system overload warnings. But given how well the M1 seems to perform, the gap between MacBook Air and the pro lineup has really closed so you might be just fine getting a base model MacBook Air. However, if you really want to be safe in case your skills and production scale outgrows the machine’s capability (and maybe want to get into some video editing at some point), then I’d say the 14” M1 Pro would offer you better value.
Side note: rumors about M2 MacBooks are on the rise so if I were you I’d probably wait it out for a bit and see!

I’m looking to replace my 2014 iMac and it seems like the best price anyone is doing is $1,149 for a base M4 24” iMac (Best Buy, Costco, B&H, etc.). Anyone know of any better deals? I’m planning on buying the base 16GB RAM/256GB HD unit and adding a 1 or 2 TB fast external drive for all my apps and non-OS files.
It’s time to replace my painfully slow 2020 Mac. My hubby bought that one for me as a surprise and it’s been a hot minute since I thought about buying a computer. Are there any advantages to purchasing from the Apple Store versus going to Best Buy? I have both nearby, but the Best Buy is a little closer. Will be purchasing new.
