r/steamregionaltricks on Reddit: Spotify 12 month individual account India giftcard
August 20, 2025 -

Hey , I wanna try the 12 month Spotify individual account gift cards . I found an offer about 22€ for 12 months . But I heard a lot of people saying that many of the accounts are getting banned after one month because Spotify detects them. Does someone still do this ? Is it working? Should I only use Spotify with VPN in India ?

r/UnethicalLifeProTips on Reddit: ULPT: How to Get Spotify Premium Cheaper
March 12, 2024 -

You can get Spotify Premium for less than 2$/month

You will need two things. An Indian IP address and And Indian payment method.

To get an Indian IP address you will need a VPN. Its okay if the VPN is slow. You don't need to use the VPN continuously, just once to change your location in your profile settings. A free VPN with a Indian server you can try is Urban VPN.

For an Indian payment method you will need to use gift cards, which you can get here: https://www.g2a.com/n/spotifyindia.

Here is how to set it up:

First, if you already have premium on your account, you need to cancel and let it expire. You cannot change location with an active subscription.

Then connect to your Indian VPN.

Go to spotify.com and open your account settings.

Click Edit profile. change Country to India and click save.

Now go to https://www.g2a.com/n/spotifyindia and buy a gift card. copy the key.

Then go to https://www.spotify.com/redeem/ and redeem the gift card.

once the gift card expires you will need to redeem another one, but you don't need the VPN again.

Enjoy.

r/nordvpn on Reddit: Spotify Premium for cheaper with a VPN
September 5, 2024 -

I’ve been using Spotify Premium on an individual plan (the sharing of Family plans just never seemed too convenient) for many years now, but finally found some time to look into the options of paying less.

Now this is nothing revolutionary, tips and ~tutorials on this exist~ online, but some might be outdated or give a doubtful feeling, and since I’ve already put my time to figure it out, thought I’d share the method that worked for me and perhaps help you (or simply serve as a reminder for you) to put your VPN to use to save some money on at least one of the costly subscriptions.

What I would pay for the subscription - € 10,99 monthly, which is € 131,88 a year. What I ended up paying - around € 25 for 1 year, so let’s say € 2 per month.

To do so:

  1. Cancel your current membership and let your subscription run out (Spotify lets you use the service time you paid for, even if you cancel - you will be notified once your Premium ends). This is important, as while the subscription is active, you can’t change the region of your account.

  2. Once your Premium is gone, open up your VPN and connect to India (NordVPN servers worked fine for me from the get go). Note: this step might not be required for purchasing the key, however, I did connect at this point just in case.

  3. Go to the marketplace that sells Spotify Premium keys/Subscription Card/Gift Card (I’ve used ~G2A.com~ for this instance, using my existing account, if it matters, had no problem with the payment with the card whatsoever. Some also mention Eneba as an alternative, but I had no luck finding the appropriate listings there).

  4. Look for Spotify Premium Subscription Card.

Make sure it’s the Key or Subscription card, and NOT the Account, if you want to keep your original account together with all the saved songs and playlists.

Also pay attention to the subscription length (believe it goes from 1 to 12 months) and the region (prices differ, however I found the 12 months key in India to be the best deal, thus what I’m recommending here).

5. Once you get the key/code, make sure you’re still connected to the server in India. Open an incognito/private browser mode (just to make sure cookies don’t conflict with the process), and go to Spotify > Log In to your original account > Profile (the little round icon on the top-right corner) > Account > Address and select a region in India (mine was Maharashtra).

6. Go back to account settings and redeem the code. Profile > Account > Redeem (under Payment).

7. Enter the key, and the selected Indian region for the address , complete the Captcha and proceed. Your subscription should be activated now.

Some things to note:

  • You don’t need to stay connected to a VPN when using Spotify. You only need it for activation.

  • Your subscription won’t renew automatically - once the 12 months are gone, you’ll have to repeat the process.

  • Haven’t noticed any of my added songs becoming unavailable. All of them are still there.

  • You will be shown Indian trendy/top playlists on the bottom of the home screen, but this is not a big deal, since you’re still greeted with your personal recommendations and playlists.

  • You can’t change the region back while your subscription is active

r/steamregionaltricks on Reddit: Spotify India - gift cards not available. Best music alternative?
November 18, 2025 -

It looks like the spotify india method has been patched. The gift cards are $90 rather than $20 and it looks like spotify is cracking down on people using country X spotify when in country Z.

What alternatives are you all using? Do i now have to pay full price for spotify? I have Mexican and USA spotify options at the moment without using a VPN…i am wondering if i buy the Mexican family plan, will I be able to share with friends from the USA…it is cheaper but nowhere near as cheap as the Indian version was

If you have an alternative please drop a comment. Thanks👴🏿👴🏻👴

January 15, 2024 -

This is a step by step method for cheaper Spotify:

First I would like to say that on Egyptian Spotify this didn't work for me, it just threw an error, but on Indian Spotify it worked immediately and without any problems.

  1. Sign in to your Spotify account and find the option to sign out from all devices.

  2. Buy a Spotify Premium key for the Indian region from some site that sells those keys, I bought 12 months for about $16, I saw that they also offer 6 months for about $10.

  3. Get a VPN that has Indian servers. I recommend CyberGhost because they offer 1 day free without a card and turn it on.

  4. Log in to your account again and change the region to India.

  5. After that you can use your purchased key.

I tried the same method with the Egypt card however it didn't work, I saw some other people complaining about it so it's possible they disabled it somehow.

r/steamregionaltricks on Reddit: Spotify Family with VPN issue
November 29, 2024 -

Hi. Throwaway acc as I’m not on Reddit a lot. Been trying to read my way to an answer and how other people have done it, and I’ve read lots and lots of methods the past weeks, but only managed to get Spotify individual to work by using VPN and gift cards.

The issue being; I’d really really like to get the Family sub rather than individual.

So, I’ll list methods I have tried below, and note that everything has been tried with NordVPN.

*Tried making a VM with everything configured to be Indian, while running NordVPN on host pc, with Indian VPN on.

*tried using a prepaid Indian Mastercard, says ”Country and payment method do not match. With VPN.

*tried to get an UPI, didn’t work as I need an Indian phone number, and none of the virtual services online seem to work. I’ve seen some people succeed with this method, but I can’t seem to.

*Tried buying 1 year gift cards and (supposedly?) it should be possible to switch to a family plan, albeit lose a few months on the sub, didn’t work either. Also VPN active.

*tried getting an Indian google play, running BlueStacks and using a play gift card and subbing via google play.

The only thing I’ve actually succeeded with was YT premium, (both individual and family) via an Indian Apple account and redeeming a gift card to App Store, then subbing with that. Didn’t even need a vpn for that.

And Spotify individual with gift cards of course.

Edit: forgot I also tried to register a Revolut card, also said country mismatch…

I’ve been hyper focusing on getting family to work for weeks and I’d really like to get it to work somehow, but I’m out of ideas, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

So yeah basically Spotify used to give you an option to buy Spotify premium for 1 year (one time purchase it was located at the individual site.

Spotify/de/plan/individual/

But they have changed that & I cannot see it anymore if you're asking I'm paying with Turkish Lira basically I got a Turkish credit / debit card.

I really appreciate every comment & hope for a solution thanks forward.
