September 19, 2025 - So Ingen trying to make the biggest and baddest dinosaur of all time for their park works for Jurassic World's storyline. And I feel like the Indominus Rex was presented well. While the other dinosaurs should be treated like real animals, the Indominus Rex worked fine as a monster.

I have loved every movie since I was born (in 1993). I can recite every line from the first three. Yes as a kid the movies scared me even on rewatches, but as an adult they were just good movies I enjoyed.
However, I have always had a little bit of difficulty rewatching Jurassic World. It’s not a bad movie, I think it’s quite good, but the Indominus Rex just really actually scares me. I think it’s because it’s so invincible? With a T Rex you can freeze, with the Velociraptors they are smart and pack hunters but can be trained/are rational, Spino you can stay away from water and get away from, everything seems like a monster with a flaw.
But the I Rex can smell you, kill/destroy everything between you and it, is too smart to hide from, nearly invincible, can turn basically invisible, and fucking ruthless. It’s the only scary movie/monster that actually sticks with me after I watch the film.
Is it just me? It is it on a different level than other carnos in the films?

In my opinion the I Rex is just a Sci Fi monster. No reason to kill, sole purpose is to be a cruel, horrific monster. The other dinosaurs are more like an animal would be, that's why I like the 'OG dinos' more than the hybrids

Oh for sure the I Rex is scary. I don't ever want any dinosaurs to die in the movies, but lemme tell you, after they found the herd of apatosaurs all dead on the field that she killed for FUN, I was like...ok this psycho has to go...lol. The indoraptor probably unsettled me a little more. The way he would twitch and move strangely, and how he had some flaky, diseased scales...something was quite off about him. He seemed like the dinosaur version of a psychopath. Some people complain about the hybrids. But I enjoyed them so much! And let's be honest...people would soooo make monsters like that in real life if they could. Lol
