April 16, 2021 - I'm trying to build an industrial turbine but it's not forming. Photos below. I've built multiple different versions following YouTube tutorials, the FTB wiki, nothing is working. There have been no crashes associated with it, it's just not forming. My turbine is set up properly and while it accepts steam it doesn’t produce any power and wont spin. I have the water output to a fission reactor and a steam input from the reactor and a boiler. It just fills with steam while doing nothing. More on github.com

You need to make batteries the pic where you show the dumping exess on the right you can see that its full of energy, that shouldnt be the case, it should always be empty. So you should make induction cells so its always doing something More on reddit.com

I'm running Mekanism 10.4 on Minecraft 1.20.1.
I have a fission reactor safely burning at 12 mB/t. I'm producing about 240,000 mB/t of steam.
I have two Industrial Turbines set up. They both receive steam correctly through Ultimate Pressurized Tubes.
Both turbines are set to "Dumping Excess," but neither of them spin at all.
Even if I disconnect one turbine and leave only the other connected (so it's receiving all the steam), it still just fills the internal steam tank but the rotor doesn't move.
Flow rate shows 0 mB/t, production is 0 FE, even though Steam Input shows ~240,000 mB/t entering.
Cooling setup:
I have 3 Creative Fluid Tanks each individually connected to different reactor coolant inputs.
I also have 4 more Creative Fluid Tanks connected together, plus about 20 electric pumps, all feeding into another separate coolant input.
That’s a total of 4 separate coolant inputs into the reactor.
Despite all of that, if I set the reactor above 12 mB/t burn rate, it still burns through all the water and starts overheating.
Also, when I connect both turbines at the same time, steam stops flowing to the big turbine almost completely and instead rushes into the small turbine first.
It’s like the small turbine is taking priority and stealing all the steam.
Any idea what could be wrong? Why isn't anything spinning even with dumping excess enabled and tons of steam being produced?

It's not about the water. You're not outputting the energy the turbine generates to somewhere to store it, ideally an induction matrix. If energy out is full it won't consume any steam, which eventually will fill up and your boiler will stop producing steam, which mean it will stop consuming coolant, which eventually will fill up and your fission plant will stop making heated coolant (water or sodium)....and now you have a problem, because now there's nowhere for the heat to go except into the reactor itself, causing an overheat and a very messy explosion.

February 18, 2024 - So (personally) I recommend a 5x5 square of coils in the middle, then saturating condensers around it. Instead of saturating condensers, you put turbine vents. That's why it's not forming

April 16, 2021 - In my case the problem was the height of rotor shaft. You must respect the proportions.The length of the rotor column cannot exceed 2 x TurbineWidth - 1, where TurbineWidth is the interior diameter of the turbine (BaseWidth - 2)

Hello, I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but I honestly don't know where else to ask.
My turbine for my reactor does not take in steam, and does not spin. It started spinning once, but only got to 25 RPM before it stopped completely. I followed a tutorial on YouTube to get the idea on how to build it, but it does not work for some reason.
Any help is appreciated.

Your turbine seems to have trouble ejecting water. Try voiding the output water or disconnecting the aqueous accumulators (and and adding some buffer tanks) for true closed-cycle.

The turbine is full of waste (water). Make sure the water connection is set to output, and make sure your conduits have enough capacity to handle the throughput they need. You may need a servo to pump the water. You'll get a much easier time of it if you build the turbine directly adjacent to your reactor, and don't use any pipes or conduits at all to push the water and steam back and forth. Just make sure your input and output ports are all correct. Also, once you've filled the system with enough water, you can make it a closed loop system where no additional water needs to be added. I.e. once you've got the turbine and reactor running optimally, so long as you're not voiding the water in the turbine, you can remove the Aqueous Accumulators entirely.

It looks like you have an extra layer of casings on top. Usually the turbine vents start one block from the top frame. Worth noting that if you hover over a turbine block in JEI, they have the ponder option (hold W) which shows a great visual of the structure.

March 30, 2020 - Maybe im dumb and searching has failed me, but i cant seem to extract power from an industrial turbine. the universal power cable does not connect to the turbine valve. i tried using the configurator to force it but it still will not connect. the turbine itself sparkled red and i can open the turbine stats and production menu and the pressurized tube im using for steam also connects to the other valve i have correctly. also, likely unrelated, im using a reactor to supply steam, but once the turbine fills with steam it stops producing and just sits there, setting from idle to dumping excess does not resolve this. the build contains 8 blades, 5 coils, 8 dispersers, and 33 vents. Forge: 31.1.23 Mekanism: 9.9.16.408 Other relevant version: 1.15.2

I would also like to mention the rotors aren’t spinning at all in the industrial turbine, but I have max power as shown.
