Our Instagram account has be hacked and the email changed. We can't get back into it. We also haven't received an email saying it has been changed. Please any advice.

I need urgent help! My Instagram account was hacked today, and I have completely lost access. At 18:25, I received an email saying that my email address was changed to some random one without my permission. When I tried logging in, it said the user doesn’t exist.

I immediately went to Instagram’s Help Center to try to recover it, but the hacker also changed my phone number and enabled two-step verification, which I had never set up before. Now, I can’t reset my password or verify my identity.

The worst part is that my account is a theme page about motivation, so it doesn’t have any personal pictures of me, making it impossible to use the selfie verification method.

I’ve already emailed Instagram (attached a screenshot of the email change notification), but I’m not sure how long they’ll take to respond or if they will at all. Has anyone been through this before? Is there any way to contact Instagram faster or escalate the issue?

Let me share my experience with you. My Instagram account was hacked, and the primary email was changed, which meant I couldn’t access the account anymore. After many unsuccessful attempts to recover it, I completely lost hope.

However, when I opened my Gmail and checked the Social tab — which most of us rarely even look at 😂 — I found an email notifying me that the password had been changed. Thanks to that email, I was able to easily restore my account and reset the password.

I’m sharing this experience in case anyone else goes through the same problem and struggles to find a solution.

my instagram email got changed without me having any chances of undoing it or reverting it, i tried getting it back and i changed my password but the hacker enabled the 2fa and i have no access with it and they removed it from the account centre and i had no notification from my gmail or facebook by any intruders. please help, sorry for my bad english

hi all , my account is hacked and the email is changed and the hacker remove my access for primary email but still have access to my secondt email , i get request to reset my password from instgram and after that try to log in they ask for back up codes or code from authentication and i didn't setup backup codes or authentication app code for my account before

My mom is an avid IG user and just got hacked. She got an email saying the email on her account was changed and it's some random address. The notification is definitely from IG. The link to "secure your account here" leads nowhere. How can she get her account back? Using her phone number doesn't work because it takes her to one of her other IG accounts. We're stumped.

My instagram was hacked today.

An account of a friend I have followed me and I foolishly thought it was them (the username was literally just the same with an underscore at the end).

Foolishly I clicked the goddamn link and immediately smelt something fishy in the air as they kept asking me for a code.

Before I knew it, I was logged out of my account, a 2FA was set up without my knowledge and my email had been changed along with my username (still similar but way more underscores).

Now my account is basically shilling bullshit crypto scams and I can't log back in.

I work as a creative and while not SUPER active on my instagram, it still provides me with work through mutual contacts etc.

Has anyone else gone through this and if so have there been any successful recoveries that I can emulate?

Like the title says, someone changed my account's email and locked me out of my account.

I went through the recovery methods listed and I got no indication that my messages were recieved, no email, no notifications, nothing.

Thankfully I have evidence of my original account, since I was sent an email notifying me that my email was changed (which got lost among the junk mail so I never saw it).

Does anyone have advice for how to get my account back or how long it will be before they start looking into things? Thanks for any help y'all can give.

A little bit ago my instagram account was a while ago and the hacker changed my username, password, and email. I'm pretty sure my phone number is still connected to that account tho. According to my friends and from what I saw, the account keeps asking people I follow for $50 and tries to scam them. I did create a new instagram account and attached the same phone number to it (which might not have been the best idea), and my account keeps getting suspended due to "money laundering" or smth. I'm trying to appeal the request currently and when I try to, instagram keeps showing up with this message when I try entering my phone number (I attached an image). I'm really not sure what to do since my new account isn't doing anything related to money laundering or anything. Is there any way I can get my old account back? Or can someone help me fix the issue with putting my phone number in?

Around two weeks ago my email was hacked and my instagram account got compromised. The hacker changed my accounts email and deleted the email that instagram supposedly sends when changing the ail of the account before i could get my email back (which i did).

I contacted instagram/Meta more than 5 times, through the live chat service and through emails ( which i was in contact with them for about a week) and i keep getting the same answer “got to instagram.com/hacked”

But this link just doesnt work for me as it keeps looping me from entering my username, and then back to the help center. And when i mentioned this they said wait 24-48 hours and it will work (it didnt) and try from a different device (i tried around 10 different devices) and nothing worked.

Is there any other solution or is my account gone?

I got my instagram account hacked recently and the hacker changed the email and phone number. For some reason, the email notification I got for the email change didn't include the revert link. I tried all of the options on the help center page but they all sent the support emails to hacker's phone number and emails. I submitted a support ticket but they take forever to get back to you. I would really appreciate any suggestions with this.

Hello. I really need help, so I hope this doesn't get taken down. I looked at the hacked page on this subreddit but the solutions didn't work. Here's the situation:

I have had my IG account since 2014. It's always been private and I only have around 600 followers of family, friends, schoolmates, etc. I am in not an influencer or anything like that, just a normal person posting about my life every now and then. I have donated to fundraisers and bought things through IG before so I'm also concerned about that information being accessible to the hacker.

I opened up my app yesterday morning as I normally do and I was logged out my account. I attempted to log in, clicked forgot password (even though I hadn't forgotten it and hadn't changed it). It said it sent an email login link to c*******3@g**.net. This email is in no way close or related to the email attached to my account or any of my emails. I went to the IG support center immediately to figure out how to get back into my hacked account. The solution that seemed to work would be to go into my email, find the request email change email and revert it. I went into my email and nothing. Nothing in the trash, spam, nothing to be found. Which means this person hacked into my email as well to delete these notifications and stuff so that I can't reverse or reject the change.

Knowing this, I tried to follow Instagram's instructions for accessing a hacked account but every link and thing I click on in their support/help center sends me in circles. I click the thing to notify Instagram my account is hacked, I enter my username, and it sends met back to the support page. If I do forgot password and put in my phone number, the link takes me back to the regular login page which is not useful since the password has been changed. I'm at a loss and I can't contact Instagram since their customer service is inaccessible. I'd appreciate if anyone has some tips or ideas.

Hi, My email and phone number, and obviously my password have been changed. I tried my best to log back in, but I can't because I can't receive any codes. The hacker started posting things about cryptocurrency exchange, and he sent messages to all my contacts. I tried reaching out to Instagram a week ago and till now I have had no answer. What should I do in this instance? Please help me, for I have many important messages that I need to retrieve.

My instagram was hacked yesterday at 4pm and I got it back around 2am the next day. The email address was changed and the first I heard of it was an email I got saying my account had been changed to have a different email address. Some had tried to hack it a few weeks beforehand and foolishly I had not changed the password since.

Luckily my facebook and instagram accounts had been linked, so as per advice on other reddit posts I paid for a meta subscription for a month to get help from them (via a chat on facebook itself). I provided screenshots of emails and email accounts and luckily that was enough for them to send a password reset link to a previously unrelated email address I also have. It took a few attempts for them to send the link to the email address, and they probably tried every 4 hours or so (then after 5 minutes activity the chat would be labelled inactive which was a bit annoying).

The agents were super helpful though they did keep asking questions I'd already answered or sending stock replies. I hope this helps someone else gets theirs back it was surprisingly stressful. I now use 2 factor authentication!

so on Wednesday 8/6, i opened my instagram app and was immediately prompted to login which i thought was strange.. but i made the attempt and the next screen basically wanted me to login with 2FA which i did not set up… so i checked the email associated with my account and noticed that there were logins in a state that i don’t live in along with the account changes notifications (unfortunately its not my primary email so i don’t check it regularly). i’ve scoured reddit for hours and found a couple of ways to potentially recover my account, so i got the Meta verification subscription via Facebook and have already opened 2 tickets with them, to which they say they have to escalate it and I’ll have to wait to hear from their Expert team…. has anyone else had this issue before!? is there anything else at all that i can do to recover my account???? i’m just so sad because i have so many memories and connections as i’ve had the same account since i was in high school😭

• username

• e-mail

• password

• phone number

• unlinked my instagram account from my facebook account

i have no idea how could i get it back, i can't reach any customer support, i find no option where i can prove my identity with a selfie or my photos, or any data.

i've tried everything i could i think, and i can't contact an instagram worker to help me with my problem.

what should i do? is there anybody who had the same issue before?
