ig support is pain tbh, but you’ve got 2 real options: Use the app’s ‘Need more help?’ option → on login screen, tap forgot password → enter your old username → then tap need more help. it sometimes lets you request recovery via phone or new email instead of the old one. Meta support inbox → if you’ve ever run ads or connected fb, you can contact them through https://business.facebook.com/help . they reply faster there than through normal channels. if both fail… honestly you’re kinda stuck unless you can regain access to that old email. ig won’t bypass 2FA for security reasons. 🥲 More on reddit.com

February 3, 2024Received random Instagram “reset your password” email
I've also been getting these. I changed the email on the account and the password. Happened again maybe a month or so later. Come to find out they can do it by username as well. Just delete and move on. They may be trying to bruteforce the link to get in for all I know, to which I say, God speed. Edit: also to add, I removed my number from my account, meaning this is 100% done based on the username alone (at least in my case). More on reddit.com

After finally getting the password to an old account I had in high school, I tried to log in, but it’s associated with an email account I no longer have access to. I cannot move forward into accessing the account without inputting the security code that was sent to the email.
How do I get in contact instagram support with trying to resolve this? I searched the instagram help center, but no luck 😣

hi, I'm sure you've resolved this by now but I just resolved this issue myself and thought leaving this here could help other people who might be struggling in the future. Instagram wouldn't let me log in because of 2FA and the phone number linked to my account was a Google Voice number that had expired. So, from what I recall, what I did was: Go to the Instagram login screen/page (NEEDS to be in the Instagram app) to login to an existing account, then selected the account you are trying to get into. Selected 'Forgot Password?' (Choose this even if you know your password) Selected 'Find by email or username instead' & entered my username Selected 'Try another way', then 'No longer have access to these?' at the bottom of the screen. From there, create a new password and it automatically lets you in. I would then recommend changing your phone number or email immediately after you login though, just so you don't run into any issues in the future. it's pretty much what iAnuragBishwas recommended, though just sliiiightly different :-) I was struggling for a solid two hours and this was the only thing that worked after looking at 10 different articles, so if someone comes across this one day with the same issue, I wish you luck!!! edit: I feel like it's important that I say that the email connected to the account is in fact an email I *do* have access to, so maybe that's the only reason it worked for me. The only reason it was frustrating for me was because it kept sending a 2FA code to the phone number I no longer have access to.
