Born in 96, went through all types of windows and installed windows on 1000 different pcs, never had any issues, but today I’m defeated 😂. Need your help!
Just bought an HP Laptop FREEDOS, more exactly HP 15s-fq5039nq, Intel® Core™ i3-1215U up to 4.40 GHz, 15.6 FHD, 8GB, 512GB PCIe SSD, Intel UHD Graphics.
I used the windows media creation file to create a bootable USB with windows 10, however before being able to install it, I’m getting this error “A media driver your computer needs is missing”. After searching online, I found that I should install the Intel rapid storage technology driver. I tried several versions but none worked. I tried all fixes that I could find online with no success. I also tried Rufus, but my pc won’t see the bootable usb when I use it, no matter the bios settings. Any chance you guys could point me to the right driver I need to install for this laptop to be able to install windows? Attaching some images also
Would appreciate your support!
I know this is probably completely stupid but I want to make sure to not do things wrong. I've gotten a new HP laptop with only freeDOS on it and want to install Windows 11. I'm installing it with a USB-Stick and it asks me where to install windows. I've read that here I should delete all partitions and install it on unallocated space.
On a new computer can I just delete all the partitions or do I need to make backups of the files on it? There is HP_TOOL on one of the partitions for example. Can I just delete that? Or is this necessary to keep if somethings wrong with the PC and I want to return it? Also do I keep the HP BIOS if I delete all partitions?
¿Necesito mantenerla conectada? Porfa, dime qué hacer en corto.
Hey you all, I am already for sorry for this post because I am an absolut noob concerning IT. So, my brother gave me the advice to order a Lenovo laptop V15.4 with FreeDOS and told me it’s an absolutely easy method to save money when I install windows on my own.
Unfortunately, he thought about windows 10 and not 11 which cannot be directly installed on the laptop from the bios. So I would need to install windows 10 and then upgrade to the 11. First question: my brother says I can do that without a license for windows 10 - since I only bought for for windows 11… but I cannot really believe this.
Second thing: my Mac book is super old and not capable of even downloading the ISO file for windows. My other laptops from work are windows computer where I could download it, but I cannot use the media creation tool since I would need admin rights to even install it (I guess my IT would not be happy about this).
So now my brother sent me one USB device via mail which has the files on it. I do not know if it would even work to install windows 10 and 11 from the same stick? I thought that if you format the stick it would delete everything else. I did not try yet because I don’t get home until Friday evening.
All I know is that I’m slowly turning desperate due to having bought a laptop for hundreds of euros without being able to use it at all. If someone could just give me some advice or at least answer my questions whether this is possible, I would be so thankful.
Well i just got a new Laptop from HP with Freedos, but i have a Problem that in the installation process when installing windows with my USB, it doesn't recognize the hard drive (KB50ZNV512G) i already downloaded all the drivers for that machine from the hp website, but i can't find any hard drive related driver or RST from Intel that is compatible, also tried to download some random RST Software which also didn't work.
Im struggling for hours.
Pls help ...
