depends on if its a plugin like saber or an extension as you said its plugin paste the folder in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects\Support Files\Plug-ins " or wherever you have installed your AE reopen the ae and search for the plugin using fx console or effects and plugin tabedit:- plugins are most of the time .aex files but i suggest the paste the whole folder in the plugin folder if there is no instruction given inside zip
