No, don't. Gonna save you a lot of time and wasted money. LED headlights, unless they come stock from the factory on your car, will be a noticeable downgrade from the stock halogens. It's illegal, and unsafe, and you will blind everyone else while simultaneously not being able to see down the road. Answer from NCRranger24 on reddit.com

LED headlights for Older cars and trucks. - General Chat - Red Power Magazine Community
January 19, 2024 - I'm wanting to install LED headlights in my first gen Cummins and my wife's metros. It looks like it's plug and play. I see a lot in older vehicles round here but don't know anyone who has changed theirs over. Is there anything I need to be aware of? They are H4666 and H6054 bulbs. They are plent...

I have a 2007 Mercedes C Class which uses halogen bulbs however I would have to replace them every 1 or 2 years. Can older vehicles be installed with LEDs so that I don't have to keep going through the hassle of replacing them, sometimes they go off at random times it's not even like I replace them all at once.
Thanks

putting led's in halogen housings is dangerous to everyone else, as you will be blinding them. Just get some good quality bulbs, not "night blaster 3000's" or whatever, and look at the connectors closely, on the car side, to make sure the connections are not melted. All these shitty chinese led bulbs that "fit" in halogen housings are the reason every 3rd vehicle is blinding you!~

Today's aftermarket makes it simple to retrofit your historic car with modern LED lighting. In general, today's cars drive at faster average speeds than in the past, and this means that individuals have less time to respond to the car in front of them. Installing LED lighting on a historic car is a great idea because of this.

No. Don't even. If you want to burn people's retinas out then go ahead.

Installing LED headlights on older vehicles? | Early Retirement
December 23, 2023 - Unless (not likely) the OP has found new headlight · assemblies for that vehicle that are designed for and included OEM LEDs (like if that model got upgraded to LED later, with the same style/fit as older models), it probably isn't really an 'upgrade' in quality of lighting. I've also read that subbing an LED bulb is illegal - the car no longer meets federal specs for lighting, as that article points out, the beam pattern has likely changed outside of spec.

Why isn't their L.E.D. headlight upgrade kits for old cars? | BobIsTheOilGuy
October 18, 2023 - I just installed some Holley Retrobright LEDs in my '98 Wrangler. They are a drop-in replacement for the sealed beam lights on many old vehicles. They weren't cheap, but they have the correct reflector for an LED bulb with a nice beam pattern and cut-off. I'm sure it only made sense to develop them since they fit a wide range of vehicles that require the standard sealed beam bulb, and many cars that are owned by collectors.

Answer (1 of 17): I haven’t found one yet that I couldn’t swap out. And, I’ve found the replacement LED bulbs for less money than incandescent ones. Only problem is going to be the head lights. Leave them as is. But all the parking lights, taillights, brake lights, all the running lights will hav...
