Well, that's tough. Intel is the clear winner for gaming. But ryzen will perform better for video editing. I'd personally go with the Ryzen 9 3900x because it well rounded, has good gaming performance, and very good productivity performance. I personally think it would be, but I'm not endorsed by anyone, so my advice would be check with Corsair, they are very reputable and at the top of the game. Their online system builder tool may even help you. But depending on you intended use, I think you would be ok.

Hey Mike, I understand you are asking about air cooling, but for this processor I would recommend a liquid AIO at the least. With that said, if you don't mind hosting a monster size of a cooler, the CoolerMaster V8 GTS served me well for a few years in the air cooling department and I'd recommend it to anyone seeking air cooling.

I have an i9-9900 and use W10 and am in no hurry to upgrade. I have two NVMe drives and the option to add a third if required.
