I’m looking to get a new computer and I’m trying to decide between two same priced options except one has an ultra core 5 and the other core 7. They both have 16 GB ram. I’ve had a core i5 until now and that’s mostly been enough for me. I would like to upgrade in the graphics area a little with this next computer. Ik the ultra core 5 has an Intel arc graphics unit in it whereas the core 7 would have more processing power but just the regular integrated graphics. Idk which one would be better overall.
The only program I use that would push my computers limits is some CAD software like solidworks or onshape. The both ran and were usable on my old device that had the i5 but I would like it to run a little better on my next one. The reason I’m not looking at any options with a dedicated gpu is because at the price I’m looking at, the ones with gpus only have 8 GB of RAM, which might be a bottle neck. And I’m not comfortable with opening it up and adding more RAM myself.
So basically yeah, I’m guessing in applications purely about processing power, the core 7 would be better. Most of my time is spent on chrome, just reading, browsing or watching stuff. But in a use case like CAD, idk which cpu would be better.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Currently looking for a new laptop and trying to get my head around these processers.
Which one is better? Intel Core i5, i7 etc or Intel Core Ultra 5, 7 etc?
In laymans terms, what's the difference between them both?
