Windows Update keeps pushing Intel Display Drivers even though I already installed the latest ones via Intel's Driver & Support Assistant
Let windows update do its thing. All you gotta do is open device manager, locate display adapter, open properties, driver, update driver, and then browser and manually select the latest driver you selected. Done! no more interruptions. More on reddit.com

July 1, 2025Should I update my Iris driver through Intel Driver & Support?
My Spectre x360 13" OLED (2020) has developed a new issue where the screen will have an occasional black flicker whenever I have a video playing on the display (strictly only occurs with videos playing). Went to the HP website and searched by my product to see if there were any new drivers, though it only shows Windows 10 as an option (have since upgraded to 11). Going through Intel Driver & Support it detects a new version of the Intel graphics, but there's a warning that advises I stick with whatever HP has to offer. I just don't want to screw things up any further by ignoring this warning. More on reddit.com

I have an Intel based system, meaning the main components are Intel hardware and I've been using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant tool (IDSA) for years to detect, download and install drivers - whether it's for graphics driver (dedicated Intel GPU or iGPU), Bluetooth or Wi-Fi driver, it does it all.
Note, it's not a program that runs in a window, after you download and install it, it will sit in your toolbar, and when it runs it opens up your browser.

I use this with my Gigabyte B660 board since it insisted on installing IDSA for its Intel wifi and bluetooth drivers, and it honestly isn't terrible at interfacing with Edge to seamlessly install the drivers. I've had mixed success with using it to update Arc A380 drivers, though.

John, if you want to check for newer drivers than what Dell has provided, enable hardware updating from Windows Update:

You can also go to the device manufacturer's site to try to find newer drivers for that device. If the device make/model is unclear you can trace it's Hardware ID as shown here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...
For especially hard to find drivers on older devices, or to do a spot check I sometimes install DriverMax for it's two free drivers a day.
Make sure to set a System Restore point before each install: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-t...
Then when finished with it uninstall as it's not necessary to keep.

I have settled for the Dell drivers. You can bet I will think twice before I buy a Dell again. Too many things, with updates on video cards being a tweak compared to removing Dell proprietary software, which will cause problems in the boot sector If you have to apply a boot time patch.
