I am looking to build a new gaming PC for my daughter. The price on the 5800x3D is wild. She will mostly be playing fortnite and dead by daylight.
EDIT: I will be using her old DDR4 RAM
Hello, I am currently planning to finally upgrade from a Intel 4790 and i cannot decide if i should go for the 5800x3d which i saw praised everywhere or go for a lower price AM4 cpu. I currently have a gtx 1070 as a gpu and i would like to keep it for 3-4 months to see what the rx 7700 brings to the table, considering FSR 2.0 and up works wonders for the 10 series cards
As for AM5, I have already bought a AM4 Gigabyte Aorus Elite V2 at a very good price (around 100 euro) and i do not see the point in going for a b650 as they are almost 210 euros for a midrange one where i live.
I wanted to go for the 5800x3d to have the most solid am4 cpu for gaming, but i am not sure it is worth it considering the 5800x is 100 euros cheaper. I saw benchmarks for both but they were always used with a modern capable GPU and i am unsure how they compete with a older GPU with FSR. I am open to recomendations! (I am trying to get a build that will last a long time since it might be my last gaming PC)
(Games i usually play: League of legends, War thunder, fallout 4 (heavy mods - maybe bigger cache helps) battlefield V, GTAV, Ready Or Not, RDR2, Assetto Corsa)
*(ram will be 3600mhz if anyone is interested)*
Hello, I am currentley in the process of upgrading my current PC (Specs will be down below later),
I am debating on which CPU I should upgrade two, and its either the Ryzen 7 5800X3D or Intel i513600K. I am doing both gaming and productivity workloads such as video editing and content creation. I play games such as Squad, DCS, Starfield, MSFS, CS2, etc, and I want a good processor that can handle all of this.
I have heard great things about the 5800X3D but I've also heard some very negative things. I currentley already have an AM4 Motherboard so its tempting, as if I were to go with intel I would have to buy a whole new motherboard.
Which CPU would you guys reccomend? I really want this upgrade to last a good amount of years.
Current PC Specs:
- Ryzen 5 3600
- B550M Elite Motherboard
- 32GB DDR4 RAM
- GTX1650 SUPER
I mean, goat-level products that age well and can still compete after a few generations.
5800X3D and 1080Ti are the best two examples.
But it seems hard to name one from Intel counterpart.
I’m currently building a gaming PC and am just curious, for future reference, what CPU I could upgrade to? I’ve heard that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is one of the best for gaming and I don’t plan to change motherboards, cpu cooler, and ram just for AMD. What’s the Intel equivalent? Also my current CPU is the Intel i7-12700KF.
