Never had a problem with either brand.

Behr routinely is #1 in the only independent testing I know of [Consumer Reports]
Paint stores stay in business by giving large quantity discounts to Pro painters [based on volume]. Your painters are likely not paying $58-70 for SW

Hey y’all, long time lurker here. We just bought our first house and plan to slowly paint all the interior walls ourselves. I know this sub pretty much guts anyone who doesn’t want to paint with BM or SW. However, Sherwin Williams is so far out of our price range, so that’s not an option. We also received a shit load of Home Depot gift cards for Christmas as our family knew we needed to paint our house this year. I do plan to splurge on BM paint for our bedroom and living room but would like to take advantage of the gift cards we received, so with that: what would you choose if y’all had to choose paint you can get at Home Depot?
Thanks in advance!
What is everyone's honest opinion of Behr paint for walls and trim? I keep hearing more and more painters being impressed with Behr's quality improvements over the years and it has me thinking.
I'm traditiinally a SW guy. I never really liked Ben Moore after I got burned by them and they didn't rectify the situation. SW did and they earned my business. My main concern is durability and washability. My prep methods leave nothing to change for bonding and I also exclusively latex for the past 10 years. Pro classic is my go-to for cabinets with the occasional customer wanting Emerald.
I might keep SW as my "best" product offering, but offer Behr to improve my margins a little on my volume projects.
