There are other shipping services that work similar (Pitney Bowes) where the shipment goes USPS to a sorting center, and then is put on whatever carrier is available. AFAIK they don't offer any e-comm integration and everything has to be done manually so would only work for one-offs. It also lets you fill out customs forms online and purchase insurance if you'd like. For cases like yours, Pirate Ship actually has a super-cheap international service called Simple Export Rate . For 4lb packages, it's going to cost $37 to ship it anywhere in the world. The downside is that, to make it so cheap, they generally try and get a lot of packages and then ship them in bulk to the destination country. Since I can't imagine the countries you're shipping to are very high-traffic destinations, it might take a long time before the packages leaves the US. Therefore, it might be worth checking out some other similar services like USPS FCPI or UPS Worldwide Expedited (both of which can be bought through Pirate Ship). It will be a little more expensive (possibly $55-75), but it will likely arrive faster, especially if you use UPS. Also keep in mind that almost none of the countries you're shipping to will have tracking once the package leaves the USA.
