The IO shield really just provides a positive means of securement for the card. If the PC doesn’t move and you can replicate a similar support it’ll be ok. Hello!
So i bought this Asus RTX 2070s DUAL off of eBay
Problem is, the idiot who sold it to me took off the IO shield/bracket for whatever reason?! I've looked online and can't find brackets that fit my GPU. It has following ports in this order:
[DP] [HDMI] [DP] [DP]

I live in germany and I don't know of any stores I could go to with this and I couldn't find anything online.
The guy I bought it from won't take it back (paid with cash). I know I should've looked at the card first before buying it but i didn't.
Oh and is there a way I can use it while I don't have the IO shield?

August 18, 2016 - I see no reason why it wouldn't fit... Have you put the stand-offs for the board in the right places so it is raised away from the case (otherwise when you turn it on it will blow). The GPU has a longer bit of the IO shield that goes down behind the mobo (kind of a way to keep it straight).

When trying to put my Asus Dual 4070 Super inside of my B650 Motherboard, my gpu can't fit inside, as the gpu io shield hits the motherboard. If I line up the io shield with the side, the gpu is too much to the left and it won't fit, as the left side of the pins hang out and not inside the slot.

October 25, 2021 - Is this IO shield rusting? GPU was bought in Mid 2020 and has seen 2 monsoons. Ports and PCB seems fine to me. Only the IO shield and the screw surface is rusting. Also the rust can be seen only with a Mobile phone torchlight(dual tone) and not with a normal regular torchlight (white)
