Looking to get a year of hosting. I will be using WordPress for a blog website and am unsure if its better to use WordPress hosting or just standard webhosting. IONOS has a deal for $1/month and I thought I'd give it a shot. They are headquartered in Germany but have a datacenter in Atlanta, GA. After the first year it jumps to $10/month but I would probably switch to the other standard hosting plan from them or someone else. Just looking for others experiences with IONOS if they've had any. Thanks!
What is your monthly budget? $12 at most. Where are you/your users located? Indianapolis metro area. What kind of site are you hosting (Wordpress, phpBB, custom software, etc) or what is your use case? WordPress blog. Do you have a monthly traffic volume? Estimates are ok. Its a startup hobby blog. No estimate at all. No idea how well it will do. If you’re looking at VPSes: Do you have experience administrating linux servers and infrastructure? No, but not looking for VPS. Did you read the sidebar/check out the hosts listed there? I've personally vetted these companies and their services are a good fit for 99% of people. I looked and am suspicious of them for lack of any real reviews of them. It just looks like shilling for a few companies. Maybe a mod works there? Plus Knownhost changes their price after the first year. The mod reviewing these companies explicitly stated in the wiki that they don't.
