hi! considering buying a 5th gen iPad but i’m wondering how viable it is in 2025? I’d just be using it for games, netflix, youtube ect.. I don’t have a huge budget but could possibly afford a 7th gen. Looking at around $200(NZD) for 5th Gen, Or $260-300+(NZD) for a 7th Gen. Just wondering if the 5th gen would be worth it or should I spend more and get the 7th gen? Thanks☺️

I’d say go for the iPad 7th Gen. 5th is severely out of date now and is stuck on iPadOS 16. At least with the iPad 7th, you are still using the latest iPadOS 18 update and chances are, the apps will continue to get updated for a huge chunk of 2026 and some will likely continue into 2027 as well. Simply put - iPad 7th Gen is the way to go about it because it will get updated apps for another year or two at the very least before they start dropping like flies.
