As a university student I recently bought myself a the iPad Air 5th generation with an apple pen. Thought that the choice for a case with keyboard would be easy. Man, was i wrong. There are so many great cases. After hours of research I can‘t decide between the Logitech folio touch and combo touch. One‘s cheaper and holds the apple pen in place, while the other has a detachable keyboard and a bigger trackpad. I‘d us the ipad on my commute, at home and generally everywhere, so I have to be sure my apple pen doesn‘t fall off the ipad. Is this the case for the combo touch? Currently I‘m more in favour of the folio touch because of the apple pen holder, but I‘m not sure if the keyboard gets damaged if I position it on the desk. Does anyone please have any recommendations for me?
I’m thinking of getting the Magic Keyboard but I’m open to other suggestions for this, I want protection, backlit, good key travel, not too heavy.
i was just mislead by an incorrect product description and ordered a Pitaka case, since their website listed it as compatible with the iPad Pro and iPad Air, but it turns out it isn’t compatible with the iPad Air 5. i should’ve researched better.
i’m aware of the Coverbuddy case that is compatible with the iPad Air 5, but the reviews have me hesitating as many say it is bulky and cumbersome and that the iPad doesn’t snap properly, or that the pencil holder is in the way of the volume button. i do use an Apple Pencil, but i have a separate pencil holder so i don’t absolutely need my case to include one.
i was wondering what were your suggestions or experience with such cases, please? thanks in advance!
Wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation for a case.
Few things:
1.) I want a pencil slot/holder. Lost a pen before with my Surface due to the stretchy pen holder getting loose. Also, don't care for the wraparound "holder" like seen on some ESR Cases.
2.) I have a Pencil 2 so the ability to charge while in the case is crucial.
3.) I don't want a super robust, protective case like Otterbox.
I started off with the HeyDay from Target (https://www.target.com/p/apple-ipad-air-10-9-inch-and-ipad-pro-11-inch-case-heyday-8482-black-saffiano/-/A-82800891) and aside from the pen not charging, I honestly liked the case. Seemed rigid, sturdy, and enough protection. Pen was really my only complaint.
Ordered the Rebound Case from ESR (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CXGZR8D?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) . I haven't used it much but so far it seems to fit most boxes. Pen charges, provides lite protection...although, since I started with Heyday (much more rigid, can sit on its own in lap while laying in bed easier, etc), now I find myself wanting to search more.
Also got the ESR magnetic attachement (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQCDYTK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) and the lack of a shell to "sit in" and only being attached magnetically, turned me away immediately.
If anyone has input on something which may be a better fit, please let me know. Thank you!
**EDIT** Also, IF there's a case that has the ability to stick the Ipad to a metal wall, that would also be a cool feature.
