iPad Pro 11” vs. iPad Air 4th Gen

Hoping to get some insight from people that have been using iPads for years. I haven’t had an iPad since the original came out as I haven’t had a need for one, but I am studying now and want one for taking notes. I love the note taking experience with good notes.
I am mostly going to be taking notes, doing productivity tasks, maybe start drawing, and journaling (Why isn’t the journal app on iPad?!?).
Considering I am not upgrading and I am buying one new, does it make sense to just get the iPad M4 or should I just go for the cheaper iPad 4th generation?
I’ve done a comparison on Apples website and the iPad M4 comes with a better display, landscape camera, and Apple Pencil pro support. I think I would be buying the iPad M4 for the better screen and better camera position, and lighter weight. But not sure if that’s worth ~$400.
After 6 months of grinding non-stop, I finally decided to treat myself and picked up the new iPad Pro 11” (base model). And man, this thing is gorgeous. The screen alone makes me feel like I made the right call. I was actually considering a used M1 or M2 to save some cash, but I’m so glad I didn’t.
I was also torn between the 11” and 13”, but went with the 11” – zero regrets. Next to the 13” in the Apple Store it looked almost tiny, but now that I’m actually using it at home, it feels just right. I’ve already got a MacBook Pro 16” for work and I wanted to separate work from life a bit more – didn’t want to keep using it for movies and stuff. I’ll mainly use the iPad for media, note-taking, Notion, Slack and some light creative stuff.
Now I’m seriously eyeing the Airpods Max. I already have the Sony XM4s and felt like it might be too much to spend, but now that the ecosystem is almost complete… it just feels like the cherry on top.
