Which Apple Pencil will work with this iPad?
Which keyboard will work with this iPad?
What type of SIM does this iPad have?
Graphic Designer here and I don't want to spend double for an M4 ipad. Both are the base versions, wifi. I gotta add 100 to get the apple pencil too I guess. But I'm torn on if I should spend more for the m4 .. is there any game changer app or feature only on the m4?
I'm looking to upgrade from my 2018 iPad Pro 11" (A12X). I tried the newest iPad Pro for a bit but am thinking of returning it as it's just crazy expensive and I don't think I will ever fully utilize all of its power (at most I will do photo editing on it with 60mb RAW files, any video editing I will do on my MBP).
I was considering the new iPad Air 13" at one point, but now I'm leaning towards a refurbished iPad Pro 13" M1 (5th gen) from Apple's refurbished store so I can still get ProMotion. Is there anything I'll be missing out on going with the M1 model versus the newest M4 model? (I don't need the new Pencil Pro fwiw)
The M4 has a better display, almost a quarter pound lighter (if you've owned an older 12.9 model, you will appreciate this), and will likely have about 3 years more updates down the line.
The really only big thing I can think of is you're missing out on an OLED display, so if that's a deal breaker for you personally then I would say go for the M4. But the M1 is still an amazing iPad and I don't think you're going to have any regrets going with it.
Was completing a sign-in to a website from my Apple Vision Pro and received an e-mail notification that someone (me) was logging in from “Device: Apple iPad Pro 11-inch (5th generation)”. This is interesting because Apple has not released an iPad with that product name. In October 2022 Apple released the “iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) (Wi-Fi)” and cellular version. At the same time they released the 6th generation of the 12.9-inch version. Then a year ago in May 2024, Apple dropped noting the “(xth generation)” designation and released the “iPad Pro 11-inch (M4) (Wi-Fi)” product.
So it is interesting that the 4th gen iPad Pro used an M2 chip like the Vision Pro does. So internally, Apple must consider the AVP to be its own generation of a face-mounted iPad Pro.
