I have the 11. I bought it 2 1/2 years ago for $250 when funds were tight and I needed a cheap phone ASAP that wasn’t a paperweight. It was even my first Apple product ever. I’m fairly utilitarian with phones, but I personally have no issues. It isn’t as snappy as a newer phone, but the processor is also almost 8 years old at this point, so that is to be expected. I also haven’t noticed terrible battery life, even after upgrading to iOS18. Since I bought the phone, it has stayed on Low Power mode unless it’s charging. After 2 1/2 years, my maximum capacity is at 85%, which tracks more or less with average users according to Apple. I work 10 hour shifts at work where I connect to a Bluetooth speaker for the entire 10 hours, using my phone every now and then. I usually get home with 20-30% battery life left (even after my 40 minute drive where I’m also connected to Bluetooth). On slower days where I spend significantly more time on my phone, I’ll often get home with 10-15% left, after watching YouTube, Netflix, and TikTok, and occasionally being connected to the Bluetooth speaker for 10 hours. The camera is definitely beginning to show its age. It feels like a 7 year old camera. I still find it pretty easy to take quality photos, but low-light conditions suffer heavily. I overall suggest the 11 if you just need a phone to hold you over. It won’t be as snappy or packed with as many features as a newer phone, but it absolutely still gets the job done perfectly fine.
