I mean do you have the funds to get a new refurbished iPhone? Because some months ago I got a green line on my XS Max and so I just got a new iPhone because I didn’t feel it was worth it to spend money on a new screen when it already had many other problems and the phone felt outdated. Alternatively my dad breaks his phone screens all the time and just goes on maps and finds the closest phone repair shop and usually costs around $40. Idk personally I’d take this as a sign to upgrade because the 11 doesn’t even support 5G. Which trusts it makes a huge difference! Like that’s the biggest difference I saw in my upgrade. r/mobilerepair on Reddit: iPhone 11 Pro Max Back Glass Replacement
January 5, 2023 -

I'm looking to offer an improved version of back glass replacement for iPhone 11's where instead of using the big hole back glass, I would remove the original, outer camera glass lens and bezel and then use a small hole back glass cover. This way I can ensure better water resistance (maybe) by following the OEM installation.

That said, I've been searching everywhere for suppliers of back glass with the small hole but haven't found one yet. Everyone offers the big hole version, if at all, or just a full housing assembly, which I do not want to use for this offering. I can also get the original size lenses and bezels but so far, no dice on the glass.

Does anyone have a recommendation, please?

iPhone 11 Pro Max Screen Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide
iPhone 11 Pro Max Screen
If your iPhone 11 Pro Max screen is cracked, not responding to touch, or not showing a picture when your phone is powered on, use this guide to restore your iPhone to working order with a new screen, a.k.a. display assembly. The combined earpiece speaker + sensor assembly affixed to the back of the display is paired to your individual iPhone from the factory, so you must transfer it from your old display to your new one during any display replacement.

There are two (3) pieces to the LCD assembly which can be broken individually or all at once. 1. Outer glass (Not too serious, use epoxy to fill in holes then screen protector or just clear packing tape it!) 2. Digitizer: Looks perfect or with a cracked outer glass with no ability to touch certain parts or the complete part of screen to make a selection. Cheaper to replace whole LCD assembly. 3. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display (to keep it simple we won’t mention other types)) you cannot see anything but lights and sound work, black spot or black crack in screen keeps spreading Digitizer May or may not work… Complete LCD needs replacing! 4. Apple (Jump+) Even with warranty will charge you $200 and all personal data will be deleted and you must be original owner of phone to have Warranty. 5. Replacing just the outer glass and or digitizer is not viable since they are delicate and require heating or freezing equipment, special handling and neodymium wire (9 out of 10 difficulty scale.) Forgive me if I’m inaccurate (not up to date)on recent Jump+ prices or warranty. Cheaper parts are available online and especially for i-devices as others like Androids (Samsung, BlackBerry, Motorola, etc.,) parts are two and three times as much on. eBay, Amazon, Aliexpress, etc. That particular LCD package is abvailable on eBay for $100.00 USD. iphone parts cheaper and not that hard on a scale of 1 to 10 for repairs and my only gripe about Chinese parts are one or 2 pixels were white in the screen and I bent the cable instead of curling it gently and broke it.

If your iPhone 11 Pro Max screen is cracked but the touch functionality is still working, you have a few options to consider: Replacement Options 1. Full Display Replacement: - This involves replacing the entire screen assembly, including the display and the digitizer (which handles touch). This is the most common and recommended approach, as it ensures that both the display and touch functionality are in optimal condition. - Cost: Typically ranges from $200 to $400, depending on whether you go through Apple or a third-party repair service. 2. Glass Only Repair: - Some repair shops offer glass-only replacement services, where they only replace the cracked glass without replacing the underlying display or digitizer. This can be a cheaper option. - Cost: Generally ranges from $100 to $250, but the quality and reliability can vary significantly. Considerations * Quality and Reliability: If you opt for a glass-only repair, there is a risk that the underlying components may not be entirely unaffected by the crack, and issues could arise later. If the digitizer is damaged or starts to fail, you may end up needing a full replacement anyway. * Warranty and AppleCare: If your device is under warranty or covered by AppleCare, check with Apple for your repair options. Apple generally replaces the entire screen assembly, which may be more reliable. * DIY Repairs: If you're considering doing the repair yourself, keep in mind that this can void any warranty and may lead to further damage if not done correctly. Conclusion For the best long-term results, replacing the entire display is generally the recommended approach. If you decide to go for a glass-only repair, ensure you choose a reputable repair service. Always back up your device before any repair to prevent data loss.

r/mobilerepair on Reddit: iPhone glass-only replacement without breaking the oled (help?)
January 15, 2023 -

I have been trying to learn how to replace the glass of the iPhone 11's display. It has been much harder than expected even though I have the necessary tools. I would like to ask if someone has experience with it.

Removing the frame seems to be the most difficult step. Here is what I have found out so far:

  • Don't remove the lower part near the cable

  • Set the lcd seperator tool to 90 C and work quickly, lower temperatures don't affect the glue much

But even following these rules, I still damage the oled every time.

I cracked the back of my iPhone 11 Pro Max badly. Will getting the back glass and screen fixed mess up any of my data? - Quora
Answer (1 of 4): Short answer: NO it will not erase your data, even if they need to erase your data for some reason, they will back up your data on a computer and then reload it back onto the new or fixed phone. Not sure what you're talking about, you cracked the back of the phone and you're get...
