They’re right it needs a new display. But both of those panels are cheap LCDs, and that’s a terrible choice for an OLED phone. To keep it short: LCDs are more fragile, run hotter, add thickness, stress the battery, and can (and often do) permanently damage the motherboard. Do not install those. Get an OEM or a high-quality 3rd party soft-OLED replacement from a trusted supplier or have an AIRP handle it (to check if a shop is an AIRP use this https://support.apple.com/repair/verify-repair-provider ). TLDR; You only get a message that says your display is not genuine, and in some cases your true tone may be disabled. That is all. If you plan on keeping it long term - Go through Apple or get an OLED replacement from third party. Short term = LCD from third party How much longer do you plan on having the phone for? iPhone 11 Pro is still a good phone, but it's getting a bit old so if you plan on upgrading or trading in soon, then don't go through Apple. Few things you should know: You may get two options for screen type: LCD and OLED Some shops slap an LCD and call it a day while some shops (the more reputable ones) may offer you the two types. iPhone 11 Pro was released with an OLED screen so it is generally better to go with the OLED option, however it is a bit pricey. Again, if you don't plan on keeping the phone for too long, I don't think LCD should be too bad. Many people opt for this option when trading in their phones. Just know the quality will be slightly worse. OLED will be better if you want to keep it long term. 2) Face ID SHOULD work after the screen replacement I've seen so many cases where people say they got their screen replaced at the cost of their face ID. This is a result of inexperienced repair technicians being trusted with your phone. Your face ID should be working after your screen has been replaced. It is tied to the board, not the screen. 3) Display message will pop up and true tone MAY be disabled On iPhone XR and above, Apple started to put non-genuine display messages on phones that have had their screen replaced. To be honest, this is not a big deal but may lower resell value slightly. It may sometimes show up when you unlock the phone but after some time may disappear but appear only in settings. Also, true tone needs to be reprogrammed to the new screen when it gets replaced. Some shops may not do this so it might be disabled. Also not a big deal as I have sold and repaired many phones with that feature off. Make sure you check reviews and reputability of the repair shop you plan on going to.
