Metro has the iphone 12 64GB for $100 when you port over a number. Pretty sure you have to sign up for their $60 plan for the first month but then you should be able to downgrade to one of the cheaper plans for the following months. I believe they used to have a wait of 180 days to unlock but, unfortunately it looks like they might have upped that to 365 days. For iphones 12 (and newer), Redpocket supposedly does a deal where you get $200-300 off the phone but the rules there are weird. I think, you get a certain amount off immediately (maybe $100-200?) and the rest you get back in a "rebate" (not sure how that works, i.e. credit, visa gift card, etc.) after being on their service for 3 months. You also have to be on their service for 12 months to be able to unlock. All things considered, I'm skeptical and have never tried them... so proceed with caution there. Otherwise, most of the other deals for iphone 12 (and newer), that I know of, may not technically require contracts, but the savings are given in monthly credits (over 1-3 years) so you only see a savings if you stay with them for a while... which to me effectively makes it a long term contract. Edit: So I went searching and find out more about the rebate . It's in the form a $200 "Virtual Visa Gift Card" with a bunch of caveats including: It's not automatic. If you qualify, you should get a "rebate code" which you enter into an online form to request the gift card. "The initial plan purchase does not count toward the 3 consecutive recurring charges." - So technically you end up having to pay for at least 4 months of service before you can get the "rebate code". "Delivery takes 1 to 2 weeks from the date of the request." "You must activate your Virtual Visa Gift card within 90 days of receiving the activation link" "Virtual gift cards expire 6 months after activation." Seems like a lot of hassle and not a lot of leeway if they decide that you didn't do all the requirements correctly.
