I have read many people who are getting micro scratches on the stainless band’s coating. Some even use a case, and the mere removal and insertion of a case is causing micro scratches on the coating.

I have had my gold variant since first week of November and have used an apple silicone case, nomad rugged case, and even a moshi “fake” leather case. None of these cases have tarnished my gold bezel including the rim which is left exposed when using an apple MagSafe silicone case. I, however only charge via MagSafe. I even made a poll and surprisingly many do not have any marks as well, and yes, inspecting it under bright direct light and even tilting the phone around to closely inspect the entire bezel, and it is immaculate.

My question is, are these marks more often on other colored variants, sans the silver of course? In my experience the gold’s coating seems very resilient to any marks
